Christian Fernández
Christian Fernández Salas (born 15 October 1985) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played mainly as a left-back. In a 20-year senior career, he totalled 276 games and 22 goals in the Segunda División over ten seasons, representing mainly Real Oviedo (six years). He added 94 appearances in La Liga, with Racing de Santander and Almería, and also had a brief Major League Soccer spell with D.C. United. Club career Born in Santander, Cantabria, Fernández was a product of hometown club Racing de Santander's youth academy, and he made his first-team debut on 7 January 2007 in a 2–0 away loss against Levante UD. 2006–07 La Liga
The 2006–07 La Liga season was the 76th since its establishment. It began on 27 August 2006, and concluded on 17 June 2007. Real Madrid won La Liga thanks to a superior head-to-head record against runners-up Barcelona. Celta Vigo, Real Sociedad and Gimnàstic were relegated. Barcelona was in first place for much of the season while arch-rivals Real Madrid were six points behind and in fourth. However, Barcelona began playing inconsistently after January, while Madrid's form improved in that same period. Copa Del Rey
The , commonly known as , or (in English) the Spanish Cup or King's Cup, and formerly known as Copa del Presidente de la República (1932–1936) and Copa del Generalísimo (1939–1976), is an annual knockout football competition in Spanish football, organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The competition was founded in 1903, making it the oldest Spanish football competition played at a national level. Copa del Rey winners qualify for the following season's UEFA Europa League. 2009–10 Copa Del Rey
The 2009–10 Copa del Rey was the 108th staging of the Copa del Rey (including two seasons where two rival editions were played). The competition began on 22 August 2009 and concluded on 19 May 2010 with the final held at the Camp Nou in Barcelona, in which Sevilla lifted the trophy for the fifth time in their history with a 2–0 victory over Atlético Madrid. The defending cup holders were Barcelona, but they were eliminated by Sevilla in the round of 16. Club Atlético Osasuna (, ''Osasuna Athletic Club''), or simply Osasuna, is a Spanish professional football club based in Pamplona, Navarre. The 2009–10 La Liga (known as the ''Liga BBVA'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 79th season of La Liga since its establishment. The 2007–08 season was the 77th in the history of the Segunda División (known as the Liga BBVA for sponsorship reasons), the second tier of the Spanish football league system. The first matches of the season were played on 25 August 2007, and the season ended on 15 June 2008. Celta de Vigo, Real Sociedad, and Gimnàstic de Tarragona were the teams which were relegated from La Liga the previous season. Racing de Ferrol, Eibar, Sevilla Atlético, and Córdoba were the teams which were promoted from Segunda División B the previous season. Samuel San José Fernández (born 1 March 1984), known simply as Samuel or Samu for short, is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a central defender, currently manager of UM Escobedo. Club career Born in Santander, Cantabria, Samu was a product of his hometown club Racing de Santander's youth system. He first appeared for its main squad on 11 September 2005, in a 0–1 home loss against Cádiz CF. He finished the season with seven appearances (all but one were complete matches) and four yellow cards, as the Cantabria side finished 17th in La Liga and narrowly avoided relegation.
