Chris Jasper
Christopher Howard Jasper (December 30, 1951 – February 23, 2025) was an American singer, composer and producer. Jasper was a member of the Isley Brothers from 1973 to 1983, and Isley-Jasper-Isley from 1984 to 1987. He was also a successful solo musician and record producer, recording over 17 of his own solo albums, including four urban contemporary gospel albums, all written, produced and performed, both vocally and instrumentally, by Jasper. He also produced artists for his New York City-based record label, Gold City Records. Jasper's keyboard and Moog synthesizer work was his signature contribution to the Isley Brothers' music of the 1970s and 1980s when the Isley Brothers were a self-contained band. The Housemartins
The Housemartins were an English indie rock group formed in Hull who were active in the 1980s and charted three top-ten albums and six top-twenty singles in the UK. Many of their lyrics conveyed a mixture of socialist politics and Christianity, reflecting the beliefs of the band (the back cover of their debut album, '' London 0 Hull 4'', contained the message, "Take Jesus – Take Marx – Take Hope"). ''Winner Takes All'' is a studio album by the Isley Brothers, released on T-Neck Records on August 21, 1979. It was their first and only double album. The album included the number-one R&B hit, " I Wanna Be With You" and the top 20 UK disco hit, " It's a Disco Night (Rock Don't Stop)".
