Chris Cron
Christopher John Cron Sr. (born March 31, 1964) is an American former professional baseball player, manager, and current coach. he is the assistant hitting coach for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the California Angels and Chicago White Sox, and has managed in Minor League Baseball. Career Drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the second round of the 1984 Major League Baseball Draft, Cron made his Major League Baseball debut with the California Angels on August 15, 1991 and appeared in his final game on October 4, 1992. During the 1995 season, Cron retired and became manager of the Bristol White Sox, a minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, and has spent several years as a manager in the White Sox farm system. Palm Springs Angels
The Palm Springs Angels were a minor league baseball team of the Class A California League from 1986 to 1993 and an affiliate of the California Angels. Following the 1993 season the franchise relocated to Lake Elsinore, California to become the Lake Elsinore Storm. History Following the 1985 season, the Redwood Pioneers were relocated to Palm Springs. Redwood had been the California Angels California League affiliate. The Angels had used Palm Springs as a spring training location. Upon moving to the desert the team adopted the name of their parent club to become the Palm Springs Angels. Although average game attendance was below average of the league in the late 1980s, the P.S. Richard Michael Sofield (born December 16, 1956) is a former Major League Baseball outfielder. He was the Pittsburgh Pirates third base coach from 2013 to 2016 and was the manager of their Class-A South Atlantic League team the West Virginia Power during the 2012 season. Early life Sofield was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming but moved to Morris Plains, New Jersey as a child. Bill Hayes (baseball)
William Ernest Hayes (born October 24, 1957), nicknamed "Wild Bill", is a former catcher for the Chicago Cubs (1980–81). After his playing career he became a coach for the San Francisco Giants. Early life and playing career Born in Cheverly, Maryland, Hayes grew up in North Platte, Nebraska and graduated from St. Patrick High School. Hayes caught the eye of coach Bob Warn at Iowa Western Community College and was offered a scholarship at Indiana State when Warn took the head coaching position there in 1976. Hayes played three seasons at Indiana State (1976–78). In 1978, his junior season at Indiana State, Hayes was an all-conference player and led the team with 13 home runs. The Colorado Springs Sky Sox were a Minor League Baseball team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The team played in the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and was the Triple-A affiliate of the major league Milwaukee Brewers (2015–2018), Colorado Rockies (1993–2014), and Cleveland Indians (1988–1992). Reno Aces
The Reno Aces are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. They are located in Reno, Nevada, and play their home games at Greater Nevada Field, which opened in 2009. The All-Star Futures Game is an annual baseball exhibition game hosted by Major League Baseball (MLB) in conjunction with the mid-summer MLB All-Star Game. A team of American League-affiliated prospects competes against a team of National League-affiliated prospects.
