Chong Eng
Chong Eng (; born on 6 July 1957) is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of the Penang State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration under Chief Ministers Lim Guan Eng and Chow Kon Yeow and Member of the Penang State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Padang Lalang from May 2013 to August 2023, Member of Parliament (MP) of for Bukit Mertajam from November 1999 to May 2013 and MLA for Batu Lancang from April 1995 to November 1999. She is a member and was the Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the PH and formerly PR, Barisan Alternatif (BA) and Gagasan Rakyat (GR) coalitions. The 14th Penang election was held on 9 May 2018 to elect the State Assemblymen of the 14th Penang State Legislative Assembly, the legislature of the States and federal territories of Malaysia, Malaysian state of Penang. Polling took place in 40 constituencies throughout the Penang, State of Penang, with each electing a State Assemblyman to the Penang State Legislative Assembly. Pakatan Rakyat
Pakatan Rakyat (PR; ) was an informal Malaysian political coalition and successor to Barisan Alternatif (BA). The political coalition was formed by the People's Justice Party (PKR), Democratic Action Party (DAP), and Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) on 1 April 2008, after the 12th Malaysian general election, having previously formed the Barisan Alternatif (Alternative Front) in the 10th general election. On 20 April 2010, the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) officially joined as a member of the Pakatan Rakyat after being expelled from Barisan Nasional, but quit the coalition on 6 May 2011. Lim Kit Siang (; born 20 February 1941) is a retired Malaysian politician. Having held the position for a total of 29 years on three separate occasions, he is the longest-serving leader of the opposition, as well the second longest-serving member of parliament in Malaysia.
