Chinghla Mong Chowdhury Mari
Chinghla Mong Chowdhury Mari (; 29 September 1938 – 10 May 2012), commonly known as Mari Chowdhury, was a Bangladeshi football player who played as a left-winger. He is considered to be the best East Pakistani footballer of all time, and one of the few East Pakistanis to play for the Pakistan national team. Despite the fact that most of his goals are unregistered, Mari is the unrecognised all-time top scorer in both Dhaka First Division League and Bangladeshi top-tier football history with 234 goals. Early life Mari was born in Chandraghona, Rangamati on 29 September 1938. He lost his father at a young age, and was raised by his mother. Mari's mother, Occho Moyee, and father, Pastor Thysau Chowdhury, were from the Bomang Royal Family but were expelled from the royal family for accepting Christianity. Chandraghona
Chandraghona is a town on the Karnaphuli River in the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh. Geography The town is located on the Kaptai Road between Kaptai Upazila and Ranguni, 48 kilometres from the city of Chittagong. It is from Bahaddarhut bus station. Tribal Monarchy In The Chittagong Hill Tracts
The three districts of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bandarban, Rangamati and Khagrachari, have developed a tribal monarchy system. In 1860, the British government divided the Chittagong Hill Tracts into three circles– Chakma, Bomang and Mong. Bomang Circle is located in Bandarban, Chakma Circle in Rangamati and Mong Circle in Khagrachari. The monarchs of these three districts are known as three kings. For centuries, the people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts have been following the orders of the three kings. Enayetur Rahman Khan (; born 28 February 1951) is a former Bangladeshi footballer who played as a striker. He holds the record of scoring the Bangladesh national team's first-ever international goal, which came in a 2–2 draw against Thailand during the country's inaugural competitive game in 1973. He scored a total of 90 goals in the First Division during his more than a decade-long career playing domestic football in Dhaka. He was a member of the Shadhin Bangla football team that played exhibition matches across India to raise funds during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. The National Football Championship alternatively spelled National Soccer Championship was the men's highest level football competition from 1948 to 2003. Founded by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) in 1948, it was mainly held on knock-out basis. It was eventually replaced by the Pakistan Premier League from the 2004–05 season in order to professionalize the sport in Pakistan. Nurunnabi Chowdhury (; 1934 – January 2003), better known as Nabi Chowdhury, was a former Bangladeshi football player and the first East Pakistani or Bengali to captain the Pakistan national football team.
