Chin Brotherhood
The Chin Brotherhood (CB) is a military and political alliance between several ethnic armed organisations active in Chin State, Myanmar. Formed on 30 December 2023 during the Myanmar civil war, the claimed goal of the alliance is to foster collaboration concerning affairs in Chin State and in the Chin ethnic community. The alliance was created by local Chin people's defence forces who believed that the establishment of the Chinland Constitution, the Chinland Council, and the State of Chinland "did not adhere to democratic standards, lacked equality, and failed to represent and reflect the unity of the entire Chin ethnic group." Chin National Defence Force
Chin National Defence Force (; abbreviated CNDF) is a Chin ethnic armed organisation in Myanmar. It is the armed wing of the Chin National Organisation (CNO), and was founded on 13 April 2021 alongside it. It is one of the armed groups formed in Falam, Chin State of Myanmar in response to the Myanmar military's coup d'état after 1 February 2021. In 2024, the CNDF was one of the founding members of the Chin Brotherhood Alliance, siding with anti-junta groups who opposed the formation of Chinland by the Chin National Front (CNF). The CNDF in Matupi Township warned the CNF to focus on taking the state capital Hakha, and that the group would fight back against further confrontations. Battle Of Falam
The Battle of Falam (also named "Mission Jerusalem") was an offensive conducted by the Chin Brotherhood Alliance, along with other anti- junta resistance forces, to capture the Chin State town of Falam during the Myanmar civil war. The battle was reported to be the first major battle resulting in the capture of a town without on-the-ground participation from ethnic armed organizations established before the 2021 phase of the civil war. Background Falam is the second-largest city in Chin State and a former state capital. It is strategically located on the route between the junta’s Regional Operations Command in Kale (Sagaing Region) and Hakha (Chin State). Operation Chin Brotherhood
In June 2024, the Chin Brotherhood Alliance, a military alliance of several Chin ethnic organisations, launched Operation Chin Brotherhood, shortened to Operation CB, an operation to capture regions which the CBA is active in. This operation has been aided by several non-Chin groups, notably the Rakhine-led Arakan Army and the Magway Region-based Yaw Army. During the offensives, five town's have been captured by the CBA: Matupi, Lailenpi, Mindat, Kanpetlet, and Falam. Preceding Offensives Before the launch of Operation CB, the CBA launched several other offensives. On 22 December 2023, the CBA began an offensive on the strategically important town of Kyindwe, Kanpetlet Township, planning to capture the town by Christmas. After intensifying operations in March 2024, the CBA captured the town on 29 April 2024. After Kyindwe's capture, the CBA moved on Tedim on 26 May. Battle Of Kyindwe
The Battle of Kyindwe was an engagement between the Myanmar Army and anti-coup resistance forces in the town of Kyindwe, Kanpetlet Township, Chin State. The Chin Brotherhood Alliance, aided by the Arakan Army and People's Defence Force, started attacking Myanmar Army positions on December 22, 2023. Zomi Revolutionary Army
The Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) is a Zomi nationalist militant group formed in 1997, following an increase in ethnic tensions between the Thadou-Kuki people and the Paite people in Churachandpur district of Manipur, India.
