Chikondi Banda (28 December 1979 – 8 August 2013) was a Malawian international association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Banda played club football for Big Bullets F.C., Big Bullets and Michiru Castles. He made his international debut for Malawi national football team, Malawi in 2000, earning a total of 7 caps, including appearing in one FIFA World Cup qualifying match. Illness and death Banda died on 8 August 2013, due to cerebral malaria, aged 33. Personal life He is the father of the footballer Peter Banda. The Malawi national football team () represents Malawi in association football and is controlled by the Football Association of Malawi. Before 1966, it was known as the Nyasaland national football team. Known as the Flames, Malawi has qualified for three Africa Cup of Nations, in 1984, 2010 and 2021. Peter Banda
Peter Banda (born 22 September 2000) is a Malawian professional Association football, footballer who plays as a midfielder (association football), midfielder for the Malawi national football team, Malawi national team. Career Banda started his career with Griffin Young Stars in 2017. In 2018, he trialed for South African club Orlando Pirates. In 2019, he instead joined Big Bullets FC. Before the second half of the 2020–21 season, he signed for FC Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova after a trial. On 3 August 2021, he signed a three-year contract with Tanzanian Premier League giant Simba S.C., Simba. Personal life He is the son of former footballer Chikondi Banda.
