Chester P
Joey Coombes (born 21 June 1976), better known as Chester P, is a British rapper. He was a founding member of Task Force, Bury Crew and the M.U.D. Family. He and his brother Farma G are both sons of musician Peet Coombes. Chester P Hackenbush has a noted style of 'psychedelic' poetry and has a writing style that has fathered many influences since 1993. One of the pioneering UK hip hop artists to have moulded the scene to what it is today. Chester P's name was taken from ''The Chester P. Hackenbush Trilogy'' which are a collection of graphic novels, featured in an early eighties book, with other graphic novels called ''Brainstorm'', written by Bryan Talbot. Canonbury is an area in London, forming part of the London Borough of Islington. British Hip Hop
UK rap, also known as British hip hop or UK hip hop or British rap, is a music genre and culture that covers a variety of styles of hip hop music made in the United Kingdom. The development of UK rap was shaped by a distinct set of regional influences, slang, and grassroots movements that differentiated it from American hip hop. Task Force are a British hip hop group from Highbury in London, England. The group is led primarily by two brothers Chester P (vocals, songwriting and occasional music production) and Farma G (vocals, songwriting and music production). However, the Task Force family, according to Chester P, also includes DJ Louis Slipperz (music production), Ramson BadBones (vocals and songwriting), Remus, D.Molish, Inja MC (Delegates of Culture, Cambridge), Calculus, Merkamillion, Blinks and Marley. Farma G
Robin Coombes, better known as Farma G, is a rapper and hip-hop producer. He formed one half of UK hip-hop group Task Force along ith his brother Chester P, and was a founding member of Bury Crew and the MUD Family. He is the son of musician Peet Coombes. Farma G and Chester P formed Task Force in 1998 with Mark B and DJ Mr Thing. They released their New Mic Order LP in 1999 produced by Mark B. The group toured the UK and Europe extensively throughout 98/99/00 gaining a solid fanbase. Task Force went on to release Voice Of The Great Outdoors on Lowlife records in 2000, with Farma producing the majority of the tracks. In 2018 Farma began producing tracks for a range of US underground rap artists including Recognize Ali, Mooch, Mach-Hommy, Jay NICE and WateR and Rome Streetz. Peet Coombes
Peter George "Peet" Coombes (16 July 1953 – 30 March 1997) was an English guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. He was the lead singer and primary songwriter of the group The Tourists, the first charting band to feature guitarist Dave Stewart and singer Annie Lennox, who later gained greater fame as the duo Eurythmics. The Catch and The Tourists Coombes was born in Bradford, England, but spent most of his early life in Sunderland, where he met Dave Stewart. Stewart introduced Coombes to Annie Lennox, whom he had met when she was working in a London restaurant. In 1976 the three formed a post-disco band called The Catch, which released one single "Borderline/Black Blood" that failed to chart. The band renamed itself The Tourists, adding bassist Eddie Chin and drummer Jim Toomey. Coombes played guitar, sang, and wrote most of The Tourists' original songs. Bryan Talbot (born 24 February 1952) is a British comics artist and writer, best known as the creator of '' The Adventures of Luther Arkwright'' and its sequels '' Heart of Empire'' and '' The Legend of Luther Arkwright'', as well as the ''Grandville'' series of books. He collaborated with his wife, Mary M. Talbot to produce '' Dotter of Her Father's Eyes'', which won the 2012 Costa biography award.
