Chesapeake High School (CHS) is a public high school in Pasadena, Maryland. It is one of two public high schools in Pasadena, the other being Northeast High School. The school serves grades 9–12 in the local feeder system, encompassing Chesapeake Bay Middle School and the respective five elementary schools that feed into it. The school has two floors and includes a football field, several soccer and other athletic fields, and a variety of gymnasiums, including a smaller dance studio. History Before Chesapeake High School was opened, Northeast High School was the only high school in Pasadena. By the 1970's, overcrowding had become a large enough problem at Northeast to warrant the establishment of a second high school in the town. Since 2007, he has served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing Maryland House of Delegates District 31, District 31. It is governed by USA Softball (formerly known as the Amateur Softball Association) and takes part in International Softball Federation, international softball competitions. The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) is the Voluntary association, association that oversees public high school sporting contests in the state of Maryland. Formed in 1946, the MPSSAA is made up of public high schools from each of Maryland's 23 counties and independent city of Baltimore, which joined the association in 1993 when its public high schools withdrew from the earlier longtime athletic league, the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association, Maryland Scholastic Association (MSA) which was founded in 1919. The National School Lunch Act (79 P.L. 396, 60 Stat. 230) is a 1946 United States federal law that created the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) to provide low-cost or free school lunch meals to qualified students through subsidies to schools. The program was established as a way to prop up food prices by absorbing farm surpluses, while at the same time providing food to school-age children. The Act was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1946 and entered the federal government into schools' dietary programs on June 4, 1946.
