The 22671 / 22672 Chennai Egmore–Madurai Tejas Express is India's second semi-high speed ''Tejas Express'' introduced by Indian Railways connecting and in Tamil Nadu, after Mumbai CSMT–Karmali Tejas Express. Background It is currently being operated with 22671/22672 train numbers on six days a week basis. At present, it is the only Tejas Express running in Tamil Nadu as well as in Entire South India and the currently fastest Tejas Express. The Tejas Express is a semi-high speed fully air-conditioned train introduced by Indian Railways. It features modern onboard facilities with doors which are operated automatically. Tejas means "sharpness", "lustre", or "brilliance" in many Indian languages. It is one of 3 semi-high speed trains running in India, the others being the Vande Bharat Express and the Gatimaan Express. History The inaugural run of Tejas Express was on 24 May 2017 from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Maharashtra to Karmali, Goa. It covered 552 km in 8 hours and 30 minutes. LHB Coach
Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) coach is a passenger coach of Indian Railways that is developed by Linke-Hofmann-Busch of Germany and produced by rail coach manufacturing units at Kapurthala, Chennai and Raebareli. They have been used since 2000 on the broad gauge network of Indian railways. Initially, 24 air-conditioned coaches were imported from Germany for use in the Shatabdi express following which, the Rail Coach Factory started manufacturing after technology transfer. Antyodaya Express are a series of Economic Unreserved Superfast Express trains operated by Indian Railways. The trains were proposed to be overnight unreserved trains in the 2016 Railway budget of India. Antyodaya refers to the Rise of dusk in Sanskrit ( Anthi - Dusk, udhaya - Rise) which symbolises its Overnight Services. Uday Express
UDAY Express or Utkrisht Double Decker Air Conditioned Yatri Express are completely Double-Decker AC chair car trains designed by RDSO. The coaches of the train have an anti-graffiti vinyl wrapped exterior and have been given a bright color scheme of yellow, orange and pink - somewhat similar to that of the Tejas Express. The train service has been envisioned as a 'luxury' train service for business travelers. According to Indian Railways, Uday Express will cater to the "busiest routes" and increase carrying capacity by 40%.
