Checkmate is a Canadian rapper from Vancouver,"Checkmate: Welcome to the Game". ''Saskatoon Star-Phoenix'', December 20, 2001. best known as one of the collaborating artists on Rascalz' influential 1998 single "Northern Touch". He is also a Juno Award nominee for Juno Award for Rap Recording of the Year, Rap Recording of the Year for his single "R.A.W." at the Juno Awards of 2003. History Checkmate recorded over 200 underground tracks including the singles "Signs of War", "The Longshot" and "Bait & Switch (Money & Music)" before appearing on "Northern Touch." Daniel Denton (born November 14, 1973), better known by his stage name Moka Only, is a Canadian hip hop artist and producer . He is originally from Langford, British Columbia, where he cultivated a deep passion for hip hop. Later, moving to San Diego to progress his career. In his late teens, he started out as a graffiti artist before switching to music. In 1995, along with Madchild and Prevail, the trio formed the hip hop group Swollen Members, Moka conceiving the name.
