Cevizdere is a village of Elazığ District in Elazığ Province in eastern Turkey. Its population is 117 (2021). The village is populated by Kurds and is the village where Dursun Karataş came from. It is on Lake Hazar Lake Hazar (; ; ) is a rift lake in the Taurus Mountains, 22 km southeast of Elazığ, notable as the source of the Tigris. Köppen Climate Classification
The Köppen climate classification divides Earth climates into five main climate groups, with each group being divided based on patterns of seasonal precipitation and temperature. Mediterranean Climate
A Mediterranean climate ( ), also called a dry summer climate, described by Köppen and Trewartha as ''Cs'', is a temperate climate type that occurs in the lower mid-latitudes (normally 30 to 44 north and south latitude). Elazığ Province
Elazığ () is a city in the Eastern Anatolia Region, Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey, and the administrative centre of Elazığ Province and Elazığ District. Founded in and around the former city of Harput, it is located in the uppermost Euphrates valley. The plain on which the city extends has an altitude of . Dursun Karataş
Dursun Karataş (25 March 1952 — 11 August 2008) was a Turkish communist of Zaza Kurd descent. He commanded the revolutionary left and DHKP-C, a group considered to be a "terrorist organization" in Turkey, the EU and the USA. The revolutionary left was closed in the 90s due to lack of personnel. Biography Karataş founded Dev Sol ("Revolutionary Left", precursor of DHKP-C) in 1978,Chasdi, Richard J. Lake Hazar
Lake Hazar (; ; ) is a rift lake in the Taurus Mountains, 22 km southeast of Elazığ, notable as the source of the Tigris. Formerly known as Lake Geoljuk, the lake was used as an execution site during the Armenian genocide. Turkey wanted to register this historic 'Sunken City' in Eastern Anatolia Region, eastern Anatolia as a World Heritage Site, UNESCO World Heritage Site.
