Cerrapaşa railway station () is a railway station on the Istanbul-Pythion railway in Istanbul, Turkey. Opened together with the T6 shuttle line from Kazlıçeşme to Sirkeci on 26 February 2024, Cerrapaşa is the most recently opened railway station in Istanbul. The Istanbul Electricity, Tram and Tunnel Establishments () or İETT is the transportation authority in Istanbul connected to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality specializing in public transportation. History After nationalizing various companies and combining them in 1939 with law 3645, the “Istanbul Electric Tram and Tunnel General Directorate” reached the status it has today. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). The T6 Sirkeci–Kazlıçeşme Tramway Line or U3 Sirkeci–Kazlıçeşme Rail Line () is a commuter rail line that operates between the Sirkeci Terminal and Kazlıçeşme railway station, Kazlıçeşme Station. The T6 line uses approximately of track previously used by the Istanbul–Pythion railway, Istanbul Sirkeci-Pythio Railway and Istanbul suburban closed since August 12, 2013 as part of construction of the Marmaray, running on refurbished tracks through Sirkeci and Kazlıçeşme. The line currently uses repainted TCDD E32000 units used on the Marmaray line, but is expected to have modernized nostalgic tram vehicles, although when these nostalgic tram vehicles will be put into operation remains unclear. Sirkeci railway station (), listed on maps as Istanbul railway station (), is a railway terminal in Istanbul, Turkey.
