Cenæ
The diocese of Cene () is a suppressed and titular see of the Roman Catholic Church. Cenae, identifiable with the island of Kneiss in today's Tunisia, are an ancient bishopric of the Roman province of Mauretania Caesariensis. There are only two bishops, Bonifacius and Vindemius, who took part in the 411 Carthaginian conference, which saw the Catholic baptists and donatists of Africa together. In the life of Saint Fulgentius (6th century), the monk Ferrandus remembers that the saint retired to a monastery on the island. Archaeological excavations conducted in 1941 brought to light evidence and finds identifiable with this monastery. Today the diocese survives as a titular see, and the current bishop is Sergi Gordo Rodríguez, auxiliary bishop of Barcelona. Donatist
Donatism was a schism from the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Carthage from the fourth to the sixth centuries. Donatists argued that Christian clergy must be faultless for their ministry to be effective and their prayers and sacraments to be valid. Donatism had its roots in the long-established Christian community of the Roman province Africa Proconsularis (present-day Tunisia, the northeast of Algeria, and the western coast of Libya) and Mauretania Tingitana (roughly with the northern part of present-day Morocco), in the persecutions of Christians under Diocletian. Named after the Berber Christian bishop Donatus Magnus, Donatism flourished during the fourth and fifth centuries. Sergius is a male given name of Ancient Roman origin after the name of the Latin ''gens'' Sergia or Sergii of regal and republican ages. It is a common Christian name, in honour of Saint Sergius, or in Kyivan Rus', of Sergius of the Holy Caves (Saint Sergius the Obedient of the Kiev Caves), one of saint Fathers of Kyiv, Saint Sergius of Radonezh, and has been the name of four popes. Amédée Grab, O.S.B. (3 February 1930 – 19 May 2019) was a Swiss prelate of the Catholic Church who served as bishop of Chur from 1998 to 2007. He was an auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Lausanne from 1987 to 1995 and then bishop there until 1998. Biography Born Antoine-Marie Grab on 3 February 1930 in Zürich, he was raised first in Schwyz and then in Geneva alongside his three brothers by his father Joseph, an accountant, and his mother Germaine, a stenographer. He entered the École Saint-Louis in Geneva at the age of eleven, having already decided to become a priest. In 1947, he moved to the Lycée of Einsiedeln where he completed his baccalaureate in German 1949. In 1950, he took his first vows as a Benedictine and took the name Amédée. John Robert Roach
John Robert Roach (July 31, 1921 – July 11, 2003) was an American Catholic prelate who served as Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis from 1975 to 1995. Appointed as an auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese in 1971, he his later appointment as archbishop made him the first St. Paul archbishop to have been born in Minnesota. Roach delivered a benediction at Jimmy Carter's inauguration in 1977 and was head of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops from 1980 to 1983. In 1985, he was arrested for drunk driving after crashing into a convenience store; he would later admit to being an alcoholic. Roach was alleged by MPR News to have protected and reassigned a priest accused of molesting girls. Both MPR and the Star Tribune criticised his handling of cases of sexual abuse by clergy. John Joseph Fitzpatrick
John Joseph Fitzpatrick (October 12, 1918 – July 15, 2006) was a Canadian-born prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Miami in Florida from 1968 to 1971 and as the third bishop of the Diocese of Brownsville in Texas from 1971 to 1991. John Joseph Scanlan (May 24, 1906 – January 31, 1997) was an American Prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as the second bishop of the Diocese of Honolulu in Hawaii from 1968 to 1981.
