Central Province is one of Zambia's ten Provinces of Zambia, provinces. The provincial capital is Kabwe, which is the home of the Mulungushi Rock of Authority. Central Province has an area of . It borders eight other provinces and has eleven districts. The total area of forest in the province is , and it has a national park and three game management areas. The first mine in the region was opened up in 1905 making the then Broken Hill town the first mining town. Central, Louisiana
Central is a city in the U.S. state of Louisiana, third largest city in East Baton Rouge Parish, and part of the Baton Rouge metropolitan statistical area. Central had a 2020 census population of 29,565. History Long an unincorporated suburb of Baton Rouge, the citizens of Central voted to incorporate as a city on April 23, 2005, despite opposition from the parish. Businessman Russell Starns headed the incorporation movement, saying it was based on residents' desire to establish a school system separate from that of East Baton Rouge Parish. The Louisiana State Legislature allowed Central to operate a separate school system only after the city incorporated. It had about 25,000 residents when it incorporated. Former Central High School principal Shelton "Mac" Watts became the temporary mayor upon the incorporation of the city. Central, Indiana
Central is an unincorporated community in Heth Township, Harrison County, Indiana. History The town of Central was plotted by William Smith in 1890. It originally contained fifteen lots, two parallel streets covering of land. The church in the center of town was deeded its land from Charles Kopp in 1882. The original church then deeded in turn to the Missionary Society of the Churches of Christ in 1907. Longbottom-Hardsaw, a business operating in Central, was built in 1947 on the corner of Central Drive SW and Heth Washington Road SW. A Dollar General store is located at the northwest corner of State Road 135 and Heth Washington Road SW. The Central Post office was operated from 1879 until 1999 when the area was taken over by the Mauckport and Corydon Post Offices. Central was the name of an original ward (politics), electoral ward in the centre of the county borough and, from 1905, city of Cardiff, Wales.
