Central Information Commission
The Central Information Commission is a statutory body, set up under the Right to Information Act in 2005 under the Government of India to act upon complaints from those individuals who have not been able to submit information requests to a Central Public Information Officer or State Public Information Officer due to either the officer not have been appointed, or because the respective Central Assistant Public Information Officer or State Assistant Public Information Officer refused to receive the application for information under the Right to Information Act. Heeralal Samariya
Heeralal Samaria ( born 14 September 1960) is a retired IAS officer of 1985 batch. Currently, he is serving as Chief Commissioner of the Central Information Commission (CIC). Early life Heeralal Samaria was born on September 14, 1960, in Kugra village of Bharatpur district in the state of Rajasthan. Career Heeralal, a former IAS officer of the 1985 batch of Telangana cadre, who is currently holding the post of Information Commissioner, was promoted by the central government. He was administered the oath of office by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on November 6, 2023. Hiralal Samaria is recognized as the first Dalit person to take up this responsibility. He will continue in this post till September 13, 2025. Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha
Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha (born 4 October 1958) is a retired Indian diplomat who belongs to the Indian Foreign Service. He is the former High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom. He was sworn in as Central Information Commissioner on 1 January 2019 served their till 3 October 2023. Personal life Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha hails from Bihar. Born in a Kayastha family of Patna, he was schooled at Chesham and at the St. Michael's High School, Patna. He holds a B.A. (Honours) degree in History from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and a Master of Arts degree in History from the University of Delhi. Goa State Information Commission
The Goa State Information Commission is a statutory body which was established by the Government of Goa in accordance with Section 15 of the Right to Information Act, 2005 vide notification dated 2 March 2006. History Goa was among the earliest states of India to enact its own State Information Act. The first states in India to enact their own State Information Acts were Tamil Nadu and Goa, in the year 1997. However, the scope of the Goa State Information Act was limited in the sense that information could be sought only to subserve the public purpose. Under the Right to Information Act, 2005, no reasons are needed to be given while seeking information.
