Central High School is a comprehensive public high school for students in grades seven through twelve in Helena–West Helena, Arkansas, United States. It is one of four public high schools in Phillips County and the sole high school administered by the Helena–West Helena School District. It is located in the Mildand Heights neighborhood, which is situated halfway between the former cities of Helena and West Helena, which merged in 2014. Curriculum The assumed course of study follows the Smart Core curriculum developed by the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), which requires students to complete 25 units prior to graduation. Students complete regular coursework and exams and may select Advanced Placement (AP) courses and exams with the opportunity for college credit. Brian Stacy Miller (born January 24, 1967) is a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. Early life and education Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Miller grew up in Helena, Arkansas. Upon graduating from Helena-West Helena Central High School in 1985, he entered active duty in the United States Navy in June 1985 and served as a Boatswain's Mate on the USS New Jersey from 1986 to 1989. Sudan IV (C24H20N4O) is a lysochrome (fat-soluble dye) diazo dye used for the staining of lipids, triglycerides and lipoproteins on frozen paraffin sections. Advanced Placement (AP) is a program in the United States and Canada created by the College Board. AP offers undergraduate university-level curricula and examinations to high school students.
