Aluízio Alves (11 August 1921 – 6 May 2006) was a Brazilian journalist, lawyer, and politician. He was the governor of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, from 1961 to 1966, later being arrested by the Brazilian military dictatorship through Institutional Act Number Five (AI-5) in 1969. He was a member of the politically prominent Alves family, which has competed with the Maia family for dominance in the political scene for decades. Wilma De Faria
Wilma de Faria (17 February 1945 – 15 June 2017) was a Brazilian politician. She served as the governor of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte from 2003 to 2010, the first woman to hold the position. She was a member of the AVANTE. Death Wilma de Faria died on 15 June 2017, aged 72, at São Lucas Nursing Home, in Natal, due to multiple organ failure. She was also victim of a cancer in the digestive system, diagnosed two years before. Her corpse was veiled at Our Lady of the Presentation Cathedral and later buried at Morada da Paz Cemetery. Armando de Queiroz Monteiro Filho (September 11, 1925 – January 2, 2018) was a Brazilian businessman, engineer and politician. He served as the country's Minister of Agriculture from 1961 until 1962, in the cabinet of President João Goulart. He was the father of Armando Monteiro, a politician, former national Senator from Pernambuco, and former Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Ariano Vilar Suassuna (; 16 June 1927 – 23 July 2014) was a Brazilian playwright and author. He was the driving force behind the creation of the ''Movimento Armorial''. He founded the Student Theater at Federal University of Pernambuco. Four of his plays have been filmed, and he was considered one of Brazil's greatest living playwrights of his time. He was also an important regional writer, doing various novels set in the Northeast of Brazil. He received an honorary doctorate at a ceremony performed at a circus.
