Cathy Marston
Cathy Marston (born 1975) is a British choreographer and artistic director. She was the director of Bern Ballett from 2007–2013. After her tenure, she has choreographed for companies worldwide, including The Royal Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and Northern Ballet. She has been the ballet director and chief choreographer of Ballett Zürich since the 2023–2024 Season. Early life Cathy Marston was born in Newcastle in 1975. Both of her parents were English teachers. She studied at The Royal Ballet School between 1992 and 1994. Career Marston was a dancer at Zurich Ballet, Luzern Ballet and Bern Ballett, all based in Switzerland. In 1997, Marston choreographed her first work for The Royal Ballet, ''Figure in Progress'', and since created several productions for the ROH Learning and Participation department. Hildur Isabella Boylston (born October 13, 1986) is an American ballet dancer who is currently a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre (ABT). Early life Boylston was born Hildur Isabella Boylston, named for an Icelandic great-grandmother, in Sun Valley, Idaho. Her father Mike was an American country-blues drummer and "ski bum" while her mother Cornelia was a Swedish engineer. When she was seven, her family moved to Boulder, Colorado, where she started training at the Boulder Ballet. By the age of 12, she had started studies at the Colorado Ballet Academy. Marcelino Sambé
Marcelino Sambé (born 29 April 1994) is a Portuguese ballet dancer. He is a principal dancer with The Royal Ballet in London. Early life Sambé was born on International Dance Day 1994 to a Guinean father and Portuguese mother in an immigrant community on the outskirts of Lisbon. His father worked in construction. Sambé attended African dance classes at a local community centre despite being the only boy in the troupe. When he was 8, the community centre's psychologist encouraged Sambé to audition for National Conservatory of Lisbon to train ballet, even though he did not know what ballet was. Matthew Ball (born 14 December 1993) is an English ballet dancer and is currently a principal dancer with The Royal Ballet. Early life Ball was born in December 1993 in Liverpool. His mother is a GCSE dance teacher and his father works in arts education. He started dancing at the age of 6, entered the Royal Ballet Lower School at 11 and moved to the Upper School at 16. He graduated in 2013, but was unable to take part in the graduation performance because of knee surgery. Lauren Louise Cuthbertson (born 11 June 1984) is an English ballet dancer, ballerina and a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet in London. Early life and education Lauren Cuthbertson was born in Devon in 1984. She began studying dance at a local dance school run by Pamela De Waal (now the Buckingham Dance Studios in Paignton), becoming focused on classical ballet when she was offered a place on the Royal Ballet School's Junior Associate Programme. ''The Cellist'' is a one-act ballet about British cellist Jacqueline du Pré, choreographed by Cathy Marston, with the scenario devised by Marston and Edward Kemp. Samantha Pippa Moore (born ) is an English ballet dancer. She joined the Northern Ballet in 1996, was promoted to premier dancer in 2009 and retired in 2019.
