The Catedral Del Espiritu Santo is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nuevo Laredo. It is located at Paseo Colon Avenue in the heart of the midtown Nuevo Laredo. Nuevo Laredo () is a city in the Municipality of Nuevo Laredo in the Mexican List of states of Mexico, state of Tamaulipas. Tamaulipas, officially the Free and Sovereign State of Tamaulipas, is a state in Mexico; one of the 31 states which, along with Mexico City, comprise the 32 federal entities of Mexico. The Diocese of Nuevo Laredo () is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. It is a suffragan in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Monterrey. It covers an area of 7,484 Square Miles (19,378 square kilometers) and serves 980,000 inhabitants of which 86 percent are Catholic. The Diocese of Nuevo Laredo was erected on November 6, 1989 under the papal bull "quo Facilius." The current Bishop of Nuevo Laredo is Enrique Sanchez Martinez, who before coming to Nuevo Laredo in 2015 was the auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Durango. Ricardo Watty Urquidi
Ricardo Watty Urquidi (July 16, 1938 – November 1, 2011) was a Mexican-American Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Tepic in Nayarit, Mexico. Born in San Diego, California, he was ordained to the priesthood in 1968. In 1980 he was named bishop. He died in Tepic on November 1, 2011, aged 73, from pancreatic cancer.
