Casey McGehee
Casey Michael McGehee (born October 12, 1982) is an American former professional baseball infielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, Miami Marlins, San Francisco Giants, and Detroit Tigers. He also played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles and Yomiuri Giants. Amateur career Born and raised in Santa Cruz, California, McGehee graduated from Soquel High School in Soquel, California, where he competed in baseball and basketball. In baseball, McGehee was a four-year letter winner and was named County Player of the Year for his junior and senior seasons. However, he finished 2nd in the league in batting average to Harbor High star, Mike Urbani, brother of former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Tom Urbani. 2013 Japan Series
The 2013 Japan Series (known as the ''Konami Nippon Series 2013'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 64th edition of Nippon Professional Baseball's (NPB) championship series known colloquially as the Japan Series. The best-of-seven playoff was won by the Pacific League champion Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles in seven games over the Central League champion Yomiuri Giants. Tom Urbani
Thomas James Urbani (January 21, 1968 – September 28, 2022) was an American professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for four seasons. He pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1993 through the 1996 midseason, before joining the Detroit Tigers for the rest of the season. He also pitched in the Italian Baseball League and coached youth baseball after his playing career. Early life and career Urbani was born in Santa Cruz, California, on January 21, 1968. Soquel, California
Soquel (; Ohlone: ''Sokel'') is an unincorporated town and census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Cruz County, California, located on the northern coast of Monterey Bay. The population was 9,980 at the 2020 census. History ''Osocalis'' was the Spanish phonetic rendering for the name of the creek which runs through the area, as transcribed from the local Native American Indian language of the Ohlone peoples. Soquel High School is a high school in Soquel, California, located on Old San Jose Road. It has 1,200 students and was established in 1962.
