Carry Hauser
Carry Hauser, born Carl Maria Hauser (16 February 1895 – 28 October 1985), was an Austrian painter, stage set designer and poet. Life Carry Hauser was born in Vienna as Carl Maria Hauser into the family of a civil servant. He was educated at the '' Schottengymnasium'' and the ''Höhere Graphische Bundes-Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt'', after which he studied at the Wiener Kunstgewerbeschule under, among others, Adolf Michael Boehm, Anton von Kenner, Alfred Roller and Oskar Strnad. He then began his career as a painter, illustrator, theatrical designer and author, which was interrupted by World War I, for military service in which he volunteered in 1914. His war experiences made him a pacifist. After the war he returned to Vienna, where among others he met Franz Theodor Csokor, for whose play ''Die rote Straße'' ("The Red Street") he designed the set in 1918. Albertina
The Albertina is a museum in the Innere Stadt (First District) of Vienna, Austria. It houses one of the largest and most important print rooms in the world with approximately 65,000 drawings and approximately 1 million old master prints, as well as more modern graphic works, photographs and architectural drawings. Apart from the graphics collection the museum has recently acquired on permanent loan two significant collections of Impressionist and early 20th-century art, some of which will be on permanent display. The museum also houses temporary exhibitions. The Vienna Museum (german: Wien Museum or ''Museen der Stadt Wien'') is a group of museums in Vienna consisting of the museums of the history of the city. ''Arbeiter Zeitung'' ( German: "Workers' Newspaper") was the daily of the Social Democrat Party and published in Austria. It existed between 1889 and 1991. History and profile ''Arbeiter Zeitung'' was started on 12 July 1889 by the Socialist Party and Victor Adler. The paper was banned in 1934 after the 13 February issue, but reappeared on 4 August 1945 as the main organ of the Austrian Social Democrat Party, continuing until 1989, providing general coverage of Austrian and international news. From 1985 through 1989 it was published under the title ''Neue AZ''; from 1989 to 1991 it was published as ''AZ''. Else Feldmann (25 February 1884 – 1942) was an Austrian writer, playwright, poet, socialist journalist, and victim of the Holocaust. She grew up in Leopoldstadt as the daughter of poor Jewish parents with her six siblings. She attended college, but after her father lost his job she was forced to leave school to work in a factory. Georg Philipp Wörlen
Georg Philipp Wörlen (5 May 1886, Dillingen an der Donau, Bavarian Swabia – 18 April 1954) was a German painter, particularly associated with Passau, Bavaria, Germany. Life Wörlen was born in Dillingen an der Donau. After completing his ''Abitur'' he attended the art college in Nuremberg and subsequently worked as a restorer in the Atelier Altheimer in Regensburg. In 1914, after marrying Margarete Neunhöfer, he moved to Marnheim to work as a teacher in a technical secondary school. While he was fighting at the front in World War I in Romania and France, among other places, his son Hanns Egon was born. During the war Wörlen was twice buried and seriously injured. Shortly before the end of the war he was captured by the British and was held as a prisoner of war for 15 months, in a camp near Ripon in Yorkshire. Robert Haas (musicologist)
Robert Maria Haas (August 15, 1886, Prague – October 4, 1960, Vienna) was an Austrian musicologist. At the beginning of his career with the Austrian national library, Haas was mostly interested in Baroque and Classical music. Later on, he was engaged by the newly formed International Bruckner Society to work on a complete edition of Anton Bruckner's symphonies and Masses based on the original manuscripts bequeathed by the composer to the Vienna library. Bruckner Editions Between 1935 and 1944 Haas published editions of Bruckner's, Sixth (1935), Fifth (1935), First (1935), Fourth (1936 and 1944), Second, Eighth (1939) and Seventh (1944) symphonies. Hietzing () is the 13th municipal District of Vienna (german: 13. Bezirk, Hietzing). It is located west of the central districts, west of Meidling.
