Carroll Parrott Blue (August 23, 1943 – December 11, 2019) was an American filmmaker, director and author. Based in Houston, Texas, she was part of the L.A. Rebellion film movement. She was noted for her documentary film and interactive multimedia works, particularly for her project ''The Dawn at My Back: Memoir of a Black Texas Upbringing''. Blue was a research professor at the University of Houston. She worked to preserve and celebrate the history of the African American community in Houston. Carroll Coates (23 September 1929 – 21 October 2023) was a British-American songwriter, composer and lyricist whose works were produced commercially from the 1950s to the 1990s. His songs have been recorded by Frank Sinatra, Carmen McRae, Tony Bennett, Shirley Horn, Mel Tormé, Nancy Wilson (jazz singer), Nancy Wilson and others. His jazz ballad "You'll See" has been recorded by more than a dozen artists. Coates wrote at least nine songs for film, including ''Sunday in New York (film), Sunday in New York''. Carroll Cloar (January 18, 1913 – April 10, 1993) was a nationally known 20th-century painter born in Earle, Arkansas, who focused his work on surreal views of Southern U.S. themes and on poetically portraying childhood memories of natural scenery, buildings, and people, often working from old photographs found in his family albums. Guy Northrop, in his introduction on page 24 to ''Hostile Butterflies and Other Paintings by Carroll Cloar'' (1977), quoted Cloar describing his images as "American faces, timeless dress and timeless customs ... the last of old America that isn't long for this earth." Carroll J. Broussard (born September 18, 1940) is an American former basketball player known for his college career at Texas A&M University between 1958 and 1962. Broussard was a two-time Southwest Conference Player of the Year, three-time first-team all-SWC selection, three-time All-American, and was later honored as one of the Southeastern Conference's Legends of Basketball. A native of Port Arthur, Texas, Broussard began to get noticed as a junior at Thomas Jefferson High School in his hometown. He led his school to win the Texas 4A state championship; the following season as a senior, he led them to be runners-up. Broussard enrolled at Texas A&M in the fall of 1958.
