Carp River (Ottawa)
The Carp River is a river in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is 42 kilometres (26 miles) long and its watershed drains an area of approximately 306 km2 spread across Stittsville, Kanata, and West Carleton-March. The headwaters originate as the upper Carp River (also called Carp Creek), which runs southwest from Appaloosa Park under Eagleson Road through Glen Cairn where it empties into the marshes and storm water ponds south of the Canadian Tire Centre. From there it flows north through West Carleton-March into the Ottawa River at Fitzroy Harbour. The Carp River has four major tributaries: Poole Creek, Feedmill Creek, Huntley Creek, and Corkery Creek. The watershed is administered by the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority. Kanata (, ) is a satellite city, satellite community and former city within Ottawa, Ontario. It is located about west of the city's Downtown Ottawa, downtown core. Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario
Fitzroy Harbour is a small village within the city of Ottawa in eastern Ontario, Canada. It is located on the Ottawa River at the mouth of the Carp River. A branch of the Mississippi River, known as the Snye, also empties into the Ottawa to the west of the village. Fitzroy Provincial Park is located nearby. The village has one school located within it, St. Michael's Catholic school. Fitzroy Harbour Public School was closed in 2006. Stittsville is a suburban community, part of the Canadian capital of Ottawa, Ontario. It is within the former Goulbourn Township. A part of the National Capital Region, Stittsville is immediately to the southwest of Kanata, adjacent to Richmond and about west of Downtown Ottawa. West Carleton-March Ward
West Carleton-March Ward (Ward 5) is a city ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Ward 5 was created for the 1994 Regional elections. At the time, it consisted of West Carleton Township, Goulbourn Township and Rideau Township. It was given the name Western Townships Ward in 1997. When Ottawa was amalgamated, the Ward was reduced to just West Carleton, and renamed West Carleton Ward. Its first election as West Carleton Ward was in 2000. In 2006, the boundaries were altered, and the ward was given its present name. Its southern border became Highway 7 and the Queensway and it lost some areas in the southeastern part of the ward. Ottawa River

White Sucker
The white sucker (''Catostomus commersonii'') is a species of freshwater cypriniform fish inhabiting the upper Midwest and Northeast in North America, but it is also found as far south as Georgia and as far west as New Mexico. The fish is commonly known as a "sucker" due to its fleshy, papillose lips that suck up organic matter and '' aufwuchs'' from the bottom of rivers and streams. Other common names for the white sucker include bay fish, brook sucker, common sucker, and mullet. The white sucker is often confused with the longnose sucker (''C. catostomus''), because they look very similar.
