Caroline Mallonée
Caroline Mallonée (born 1975"Caroline Mallonée," ''New Music USA'' (website), accessed 8 August 2019) is an American composer best known for her choral works. She is also the artistic director of the Creative Musicians Retreat, part of The Walden School's summer offerings. She attended Harvard University, where she studied with Bernard Rands and Mario Davidovsky, receiving her bachelor's degree in 1997. For her master's degree she attended Yale University, where she studied with Joseph Schwantner and Evan Ziporyn, receiving her degree in 2000. In 2005 she received a Fulbright fellowship to study with Louis Andriessen at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. In 2006 she received her Ph.D. from Duke University, where she studied with Scott Lindroth and Stephen Jaffe. Her music has been performed in Carnegie Hall, at Lincoln Center, Bargemusic, Town Hall, Roulette, Symphony Space, Tokyo Opera City, and National Sawdust. The Walden School
The Walden School is an organization which runs summer music education programs. It is based in Dublin, New Hampshire and has a year-round office in San Francisco, California. Since its founding in 1972, the Walden School has operated the Young Musicians Program, a 5-week long summer camp and concert series, which is the only summer program dedicated specifically to young composers in the United States. Students aged 9 to 18 study musical composition, along with a unique curriculum of music theory, specialty electives, and chorus. In 2011 the Walden School began running the Creative Musicians Retreat, an 8-day long program for adult musicians from all backgrounds to study choral music, composition, performance, and pedagogy. Both programs take place on the campus of the Dublin School, and they both feature visiting professional ensembles who help to perform new music written by participants, as well as composers-in-residence who inspire and mentor the participants. Royal Conservatory Of The Hague
The Royal Conservatoire (, KC) is a conservatoire in The Hague, providing higher education in music and dance. The conservatoire was founded by King William I in 1826, making it the oldest conservatoire in the Netherlands. Scott Allen Lindroth (born 1958) is an American composer and teacher based near Durham, North Carolina. Lindroth joined the faculty of Duke University in 1990, where he is the Vice-Provost for the Arts and the Kevin D. Gorter Associate Professor of Music; his colleagues at Duke include composers Stephen Jaffe, John Supko, and Anthony Kelley. Lindroth teaches undergraduate courses in music theory, composition, and electronic music, as well as graduate seminars on composition-related topics. Louis Andriessen
Louis Joseph Andriessen (; 6 June 1939 – 1 July 2021) was a Dutch composer, pianist and academic teacher. Considered the most influential Dutch composer of his generation, he was a central proponent of The Hague school of composition. Although his music was initially dominated by neoclassicism and serialism, his style gradually shifted to a synthesis of American minimalism, big band jazz and the expressionism of Igor Stravinsky. Born in Utrecht into a musical family, Andriessen studied with his father, the composer Hendrik Andriessen as well as composers Kees van Baaren and Luciano Berio. Andriessen taught at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague from 1974 to 2012, influencing notable composers.
