Caroline Giertz
Elsa Caroline Giertz (born 26 May 1958) is a Swedish author and television presenter. From 1996 to 1998, Giertz hosted news panel show ''Måndagsklubben'', broadcast on Swedish channel Kanal 5, and is also known for hosting paranormal show ''Det Okända'', broadcast on TV4 and Sjuan between 2006 and 2019. Giertz is also an author and has published several books since the 1990s. Personal life Giertz is the granddaughter of architect Lars Magnus Giertz, and niece of his brother Bo Giertz, who was a bishop. Her great great grandfather, Lars Magnus Ericsson, was the founder of telecommunications manufacturer Ericsson, and author Martin Giertz is her second cousin once removed. Giertz and her partner, television producer Nicola Söderlund, had one daughter, Simone Giertz, who is a popular inventor and YouTube creator. Simone Luna Louise Söderlund Giertz ( ; ; born 1 November 1990) is a Swedish inventor, maker, robotics enthusiast, TV host, and professional YouTuber. She has also previously worked in mixed martial arts sports journalism and was an editor for Sweden's official website Sweden.se. Early life Giertz named the Disney cartoon character Gyro Gearloose as one of her earliest inspirations. At the age of 16, Giertz spent a year in China as an exchange student. TV4 (''TV fyra'') is a Swedish free-to-air television network owned by TV4 AB, a subsidiary of the TV4 Media AB. Sjuan ( en, The Seven; formerly TV4 Plus) is a sister channel of Swedish TV4, owned by TV4 AB. The main focus of the channel is on entertainment, sports and lifestyle programmes. Lars Magnus Ericsson (; 5 May 1846 – 17 December 1926) was a Swedish inventor, entrepreneur and founder of telephone equipment manufacturer Ericsson ( incorporated as ''Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson''). Lars Magnus was born in Värmskog, Värmland, and grew up in the small village of Vegerbol located between Karlstad and Arvika.
