Carolina Rodríguez (gymnast)
Carolina Rodríguez Ballesteros (born 24 May 1986 in León) is a Spanish retired rhythmic gymnast. She is a veteran of the sport who started her senior career in the early 2000s. She competed in three Olympic cycles: at the 2004 Athens where she was member of the Spanish group, at the 2012 London competing as an individual gymnast where she finished 14th in all-around qualifications and at the 2016 Rio competing again as an individual, finishing in 8th in the rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around final. Career Early years Rodríguez began rhythmic gymnastics at the age of seven. She says, “Since the first time I saw this sport I fell in love with it.” She competes for the Ritmo club. She has three coaches who are Nina Vitrichenko, Ruth Fernández Menéndez, and Nuria Castaño Fernández. Rodríguez trains for 25 hours per week and she dreams of becoming an Olympic medalist. Varvara Filiou (Greek: Βαρβάρα Φίλιου; born December 29, 1994, in Attiki, Greece) is a retired Greek individual rhythmic gymnast and coach. She is an eight-time (2008-2016) Greek National All-around Champion. She is one of Greece's most successful rhythmic gymnasts. Personal life Filiou's mother Eleonora Marinova is a former Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast and also competed at national level in Greece gymnastics. Filiou took up rhythmic gymnastics at age seven. In 2022, she gave birth to a baby girl named Evgenia (born 16 April). Career Filiou has been a member of the Greek National gymnastics team since 2008 and made her senior debut in 2010. She spends part-time of her training season in Novogorsk in Moscow, Russia. 2015 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships
The 2015 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, the 34th edition, was held in Stuttgart, Germany, from September 7 to 13, 2015 at the Porsche Arena. 2015 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup Series
The 2015 FIG World Cup circuit in Rhythmic Gymnastics includes seven category B events. Except for Bucharest, which is a competition for individuals only, all tournaments feature Individual and Group competitions. The All-around medal event also serves as qualification for the apparatus finals. With six stopovers in Europe and one in Asia, the competitions took place on March 26–29 in Lisbon (POR), April 3–5 in Bucharest (ROU), April 10 – 12 in Pesaro (ITA), May 22 – 24 in Tashkent (UZB), August 7 – 9 in Budapest (HUN), August 14–16 in Sofia (BUL), and August 21–23 in Kazan (RUS). Jana Berezko-Marggrander (, born 17 October 1995 in Tolyatti, Samara Oblast, Russia) is a German retired individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2010 Youth Olympic all-around bronze medalist. Career Junior Berezko-Marggrander moved to Germany with her family in 2008 and started training on the federal base in Fellbach with coach Galina Krylenko. She is a member of the club TSV Schmiden. As a junior, she competed at the 2010 Junior International Schmiden where she won silver in all-around behind Russian Daria Svatkovskaya. She won silver in hoop and clubs and bronze in ball final. Gymnastics competitions at the 2015 European Games were held in the National Gymnastics Arena, Baku between 15–21 June 2015. In all, five different gymnastics disciplines were contested. In addition to the existing Olympic programme, additional events were held in both the rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining disciplines. In addition, events in two non-Olympic disciplines, aerobic gymnastics and acrobatic gymnastics were included. Qualification A total of 425 athletes qualified for the gymnastics competitions. Rhythmic Gymnastics Grand Prix Series
The Rhythmic Gymnastics Grand Prix circuit is an annual series of tournaments in rhythmic gymnastics open to gymnasts from all over the globe. The series consists of a number of stages in different countries in Europe and is the most important series of competitions outside of those organized by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) or European Gymnastics, and the competitors include the world's top gymnasts. Each Grand Prix stage is held as an all-around qualification competition, followed by four apparatus finals with hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon. The final event in the circuit is commonly referred to as the ''Grand Prix Final''. The focus in each stage is on individual performances, though groups have also been allowed to compete in some stages since, at least, 1995. 2014 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships
The 2014 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, the 33rd edition, was held in İzmir, Turkey, from September 21 to 28, 2014 at the İzmir Halkapınar Sport Hall. Yana Kudryavtseva of the Russian Federation became the youngest rhythmic gymnast to win back-to-back individual all-around titles in the World Championships at 16 years old.
