Carmarthen Town A.F.C.
Carmarthen Town Association Football Club () is a Welsh semi-professional association football, football club based in Carmarthen.The team play their home games at Richmond Park (Carmarthen), Richmond Park. The club colours, reflected in their crest and kit, are gold and black. Formed in 1950, Carmarthen Town was elected into the Welsh Football League in 1953. Their first league honour came in 1959–60, with promotion from Welsh Football League Division Two, Division 2 West to the Welsh Football League Division One, First Division of the Welsh League. Carmarthen Town's first trophy was the Welsh Football League Cup, which they won in the 1995–96 season. Since then the club have gone on to win the Welsh Cup once and the Welsh League Cup three times. They have also qualified for UEFA competitions on four occasions. Richmond Park, Carmarthen
Richmond Park is a football stadium in Carmarthen, Wales. Situated on Priory Street, it is currently used for football matches and is the home ground of Carmarthen Town AFC. The stadium holds 3,000 people with 1,000 seats in the Clay Shaw Butler stand. The stand is arranged with 1,000 yellow and black seats in rows, matching the colour of the home team's kit. History The club announced they would be installing a 3G all-weather pitch for the 2017/18 season. Carmarthen Town began the season with a number of games away from their Richmond Park home due these pitch renovations. With the new pitch the 'Old Gold' joined a growing list of Welsh Premier League clubs to install a 3G/4G pitch. Richmond Park has been used for a number of International football matches. Deryn Brace (born 15 March 1975) is a Welsh footballer. Career Born in Haverfordwest, Brace began his career as a trainee with Norwich City, turning professional in July 1993. He left in April 1994 to join Wrexham having failed to make the first team at Carrow Road. John Mahoney (footballer)
John Francis Mahoney (born 20 September 1946) is a Welsh former international footballer who played as a midfielder between the 1960s and 1980s for Crewe Alexandra, Middlesbrough, Stoke City and Swansea City. He attained 51 caps for Wales. Career Mahoney was born in Cardiff and grew up in Manchester as his father played Rugby league with Oldham R.L.F.C. Mahoney began playing non-league football with Ashton United before signing for Crewe Alexandra in March 1966. With Liverpool showing a big interest in Mahoney, Crewe's former Stoke player Johnny King recommended him to Stoke manager Tony Waddington and he duly took his advice and signed him for £19,500 in March 1967.
