Carlos Narváez
Carlos Luis Narváez (born November 26, 1998) is a Venezuelan professional baseball catcher for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the New York Yankees. He made his MLB debut in 2024. Career New York Yankees Narváez signed with the New York Yankees as an international free agent on July 2, 2015. He made his professional debut in 2016 with the Dominican Summer League Yankees. Narváez spent 2017 with the rookie–level Gulf Coast League Yankees, hitting .255/.355/.293 with one home run and 11 RBI over 32 games. Narváez played 2018 with the rookie–level Pulaski Yankees and Low–A Staten Island Yankees, posting a cumulative .259/.390/.310 batting line with one home run and nine RBI across 35 contests. Catcher
Catcher is a position in baseball and softball. When a batter takes their turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home) umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher. In addition to this primary duty, the catcher is also called upon to master many other skills in order to field the position well. The role of the catcher is similar to that of the wicket-keeper in cricket. Positioned behind home plate and facing toward the outfield, the catcher can see the whole field, and is therefore in the best position to direct and lead the other players in a defensive play. The Somerset Patriots are an American professional Minor League Baseball (MiLB) team based in Bridgewater, New Jersey. They are the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Omar Narváez (baseball)
Omar David Narváez (born February 10, 1992) is a Venezuelan professional baseball catcher in the Houston Astros organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, and New York Mets. He made his MLB debut in 2016 and was an All-Star in 2021. Career Tampa Bay Rays At the age of 16, on July 4, 2008, Narváez signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Rays organization. In 2009, he made his professional debut with the VSL Rays of the Venezuelan Summer League. In 47 games, Narváez posted a .315 batting average and 27 runs batted in (RBIs). He remained with the VSL Rays in 2010, batting .308 in 46 games, with one homer and 20 RBIs. Narváez also earned 27 walks compared to only 11 strikeouts.
