Carlos Juan Cintrón
Carlos Juan Cintrón Figueroa (6 September 1918 – 5 May 1998) was mayor of Ponce, Puerto Rico from 1957 to 1961. However, in year 1960, during a period while Cintron held his post as mayor, Helvetia Nicole filled in as interim mayor. After his tenure as mayor, Cintrón was president of Puerto Rico's Unión de Trabajadores de Acero (United Steelworkers of America). José Dapena Laguna
José Nazario Dapena Laguna, (28 July 1912 – 20 September 1991) was a Puerto Rican attorney and Mayor of Ponce, Puerto Rico, in 1956. Early years José Dapena Laguna was born in Ponce on 28 July 1912. His parents were Ramon Dapena Pacheco and Maria Laguna y Cedo. He was the father of José Dapena Thompson, mayor of Ponce from 1984 to 1988. Political life In 1941 he worked as a political aide in the Ponce City Hall, and was also interim municipal secretary. In 1956, he was appointed mayor of Ponce. Juan Luis Boscio Desprez (21 June 1896 – 3 September 1980) was a Puerto Rican merchant and Mayor of Ponce, Puerto Rico from 1961 to 1964. During his tenure as mayor, in 1962, a major shopping mall opened in the city called Centro del Sur which, at the moment of its opening was "the most modern in the Caribbean".
