Carlos Gil Pérez
Carlos Gil Pérez (28 January 1931 – 25 December 2009) was a Spanish athletics coach. From 1979 to 1988, he was Spain's top national coach, serving as the technical director of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA). He has been called one of the "fathers of Spanish athletics". Life Pérez was born in Santiago de Compostela, Spain on 28 January 1931. From 1979 to 1988, he held the position of technical director of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA). Under his leadership, Spanish athletics achieved its first Olympic medals at the Moscow Olympics in 1980 and in Los Angeles in 1984. At the 1982 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Athens, Spain achieved one of its great milestones by winning five medals. Carles Gil de Pareja Vicent (born 22 November 1992) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Major League Soccer club New England Revolution, whom he captains. He began his career at Valencia, playing mostly in their reserves and making his debut with the first team in 2014. He also spent two seasons on loan at Elche, winning promotion to La Liga in 2013. After a spell in the Premier League with Aston Villa and a return to Spain with Deportivo La Coruña, he signed for the New England Revolution. The peseta (, ) was the currency of Spain between 1868 and 2002. Along with the French franc, it was also a de facto currency, ''de facto'' currency used in Andorra (which had no national currency with legal tender). Etymology The name of the currency derives from ''peceta'', a Catalan Language, Catalan word meaning ''little piece,'' from of the Catalan word ''peça'' (lit. ''piece'', "coin"). Helmántico Stadium
''Estadio Helmántico'' (English: Helmántico Stadium) is a football stadium in Salamanca, Spain where UD Salamanca played home matches, and is the home stadium of Salamanca CF UDS. The stadium holds 17,341 and was built in 1970. It is located in the municipality of Villares de la Reina, on the outskirts of the city. The Stadium also has a mini-stadium where the team usually trains and once a year hosts an international athletic championship. They are officially called "Javier Sotomayor", for Javier Sotomayor who set the world record in high jump there, but they are popularly called "Pistas del Helmántico". This second stadium hosts the matches of Salamanca CF UDS B. In addition, there are also some swimming pools and tennis courts.
