Carlos Adrián Morales
Carlos Adrián Morales Higuera (born 6 September 1979) is a Mexican former professional footballer. He last played for Lobos BUAP on loan from Morelia in Liga MX. He recently was the manager of Atlético Morelia A versatile midfielder and accurate set-piece taker, Carlos can play as a central midfielder, winger, wing-back and full-back. He began his career by debuting with Mexico's Ascenso MX La Piedad (based on the city in the Mexican State of Michoacán) (1997-'98), then was brought forth to Liga MX by Morelia (1998–2001, 2002–2004, 2012), later on he would move to Pachuca (2001–2002), Tigres (2003–2006), Toluca (2006–2009), Tecos (2009) and Santos Laguna (2010–2012). Carlos is the brother of Ramón Morales, a former footballer. Club Santos Laguna S.A. de C.V., simply known as Santos Laguna or Santos, is a Mexican professional football club based in Torreón, Coahuila. The club competes in Liga MX, the top division of Mexican football. Founded in 1983 as Club Santos IMSS Laguna by the Mexican Social Security Institute of the state of Durango, and the following year it changed to its current name. Santos Laguna reached Mexico's top division after buying Ángeles de Puebla. The club debuted in first division in the 1988–89 season. 2005 InterLiga
For 2005, Mexico was granted a third berth in the Libertadores. The Mexican federation decided to grant one of its Libertadores berths ("Mexico 1") based strictly on play during the league season, but retained InterLiga for the other two spots ("Mexico 2" and "Mexico 3"). The group phase of InterLiga remained the same as in 2004, but the final games were changed. The top team from each group plays the second-place team from the opposite group, with both winners advancing to Copa Libertadores. Of the two final winners, the one with the highest point total during group play will be designated "Mexico 2" and automatically advance to the group stage. InterLiga
InterLiga was an association football competition and the qualification method between eight Mexican clubs to determine two clubs qualified for the Copa Libertadores, it was held from 2004 to 2010. History From 1998 to 2003, the Mexican clubs competed in the Pre-Libertadores tournament as its qualification method, which consisted in two rounds. The first round called Selectivo Pre Pre-Libertadores was played between Mexican clubs, two clubs advanced to the next round called Liguilla Pre-Libertadores against two clubs from Venezuela, the four clubs faced each other to determine the last two spots for the Copa Libertadores. Supercopa MX () was an association football competition in Mexico and the domestic super cup between the Copa MX champions of the ''Apertura'' and ''Clausura'' tournaments. Copa MX
Copa MX, also known as Copa Corona MX for sponsorship reasons, was an association football competition in Mexico and the domestic cup tournament for clubs at the highest and second levels of Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Copa México (1942–1963, 1970–1997) and also as Copa Presidente (1963–1970), the first season of the professional era was held in 1942–43. The cup tournament was not held in several years (1976–1988, 1992–1994, 1997–2012) and currently the competition has been paused since the 2019–20 edition.
