Carles Ensenyat Reig (born 20 February 1985) is an Andorran politician who serves in the General Council (Andorra), General Council as a member of the Democrats for Andorra and has been the List of General Syndics of the General Council of the Valleys (Andorra), General Syndic since 21 April 2023. Born in the wealthy as the son of Maria Reig Moles, Reig was educated at HEC Paris. He was elected to the General Council in 2009 Andorran parliamentary election, 2009, and worked in the Ombudsman's office from 2011 to 2015. His great-uncle Julià Reig Ribó served as also served as List of first syndics of the General Council, syndic of the General Council. General Council (Andorra)
The General Council (, ) is the unicameral parliament of Andorra. It is sometimes referred to as the General Council of the Valleys (Catalan: ''Consell General de les Valls'') because it was the historical name and to distinguish it from similarly named bodies in the Val d'Aran and in France. Organization There are twenty-eight "general councillors", who are elected for four-year terms based on party lists in a closed list system: *two general councillors from each of the seven parishes, elected from the list with most votes in each parish; *fourteen general councillors elected from national lists using the largest remainder method of proportional representation. 2015 Andorran Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Andorra on 1 March 2015. Despite losing five seats, the Democrats for Andorra retained their majority in the General Council, winning 15 of the 28 seats.
