Carl Grundström
Carl Grundström (born 1 December 1997) is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Grundström was selected in the second round, 57th overall, by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Grundström made his Swedish Hockey League debut playing with Modo Hockey during the 2014–15 SHL season. Following Modo's relegation to the HockeyAllsvenskan at the conclusion of the 2015–16 season, Grundström remained in the SHL, signing a two-year contract with Frölunda HC on 16 April 2016. During the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected in the second round (57th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the 2016–17 SHL season, 2016–17 season, Grundström recorded a career best 14 goals and 20 points in 45 games with Frölunda. Toronto Marlies
The Toronto Marlies are a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto. They compete in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a member of the North Division of the Eastern Conference. The Marlies are owned by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, a company that owns several professional sports teams in the city, including their NHL affiliate, the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Marlies have played their home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum since 2005. The Marlies were established as the New Brunswick Hawks in 1978. The team relocated three times, to St. Catharines Saints, St. Catharines, Newmarket Saints, Newmarket, and St. John's Maple Leafs, St. John's, before relocating to Toronto in 2005. 2015–16 SHL Season
The 2015–16 SHL season was the 41st season of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). The regular season began in September 2015 and ended in March 2016. The playoffs were played in March–April 2016. Modo Hockey and Karlskrona HK were forced to play in the SHL qualifiers to defend their SHL status. Karlskrona won their series against AIK in five games while Modo lost to Leksands IF over seven games. Therefore, Leksand were promoted to the SHL on the expense of Modo. Kyle Burroughs
Kyle Burroughs (born July 12, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Burroughs was drafted 196th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2013 NHL entry draft. Prior to turning professional, Burroughs played for the Regina Pats and the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League. Playing career Early career Burroughs began his Minor ice hockey, minor hockey career playing AAA bantam with the Langley Eagles. As an associate captain, Burroughs recorded 40 points in 33 games during the 2009–10 season. IF Björklöven (often simply referred to as Löven) is a Swedish professional ice hockey club in Umeå, Västerbotten, in northern Sweden. Jake Muzzin
Jacob Muzzin (born February 21, 1989) is a former Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and works in Player Development for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He previously had played 12 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Los Angeles Kings and Toronto Maple Leafs. Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Muzzin went unsigned and returned to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) as an overage player. There he served as team captain and won the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the top defenceman in the OHL. 2018–19 AHL Season
The 2018–19 AHL season was the 83rd season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began October 5, 2018, and ended April 15, 2019. The 2019 Calder Cup playoffs followed the conclusion of the regular season. This was the last year the Calder Cup was awarded until 2022. League changes The league expanded by adding the Colorado Eagles to the Pacific Division and moved the two Texas-based teams to the Central Division from the Pacific. Calder Cup
The Calder Cup is the trophy awarded annually to the playoff champions of the American Hockey League (AHL). It was first presented in 1937 to the Syracuse Stars. The cup is made of sterling silver mounted on a base of Brazilian mahogany. In its current shape, the trophy has a two-tiered square base with commemorative plaques for each of the AHL's 20 most recent champions: 12 on the bottom tier and 8 on the top tier.
