Carl Georg Siöblad
Carl Georg Siöblad (2 November 1683 – 1 September 1754) was a Swedish naval officer who served as Governor of Malmöhus County and Blekinge County Biography He was born in Södermanland to Baron Erik Carlsson Sjöblad (1647-1725) and Charlotta Regina Palbitzki (1663-1738). He became a second lieutenant at the Admiralty in 1699, and was promoted to vice admiral in 1719. On 27 July 1720, against orders, he attacked a much larger Russian naval force. His force consisted of three ships, three frigates, and three merchant ships. In 1734, he was appointed governor of Blekinge County and in 1740 he became Governor of Malmö where he served till his death at Marsvinsholm Castle in 1754. Personal life He was married to Countess Beata Elisabeth Stenbock (1693-1765), daughter of Johanna Eleonora De la Gardie (1661-1708) and Count Erik Gustaf Stenbock. Marsvinsholm
Marsvinsholm Castle ( sv, Marsvinsholms slott) is situated in Ystad Municipality, Scania, in southern Sweden, from Ystad. History The estate was first known as Bosøe, Borsøe and Bordsyø and is known from the 14th century. During the late 14th century, it became part of the royal Danish crown land, and was owned by king Valdermar Atterdag and later by his daughter, queen Margrethe. Around 1520 it was pawned to Danish admiral Jens Holgersen Ulfstand who in 1499 had constructed nearby Glimmingehus. The property ceased to be crown land. In 1630, Palle Ulfsted sold the property to Danish nobleman Otte Marsvin, who constructed the present castle 1644–1648, naming it after his family. ''Marsvin'' is the Danish word for the ''porpoise'' and ''holm'' is a small island. Eric Ruuth
Eric Ruuth (24 October 1746 – 25 May 1820) was a Swedish nobleman and the owner of Marsvinsholm Castle. He served as the Governor-General of Swedish Pomerania from 1792 to 1796. With his coal mine he started the company that would eventually become Höganäs AB. Biography He was born on 24 October 1746 to Gustaf Ruuth of Finland (1697–1757) and Baroness Ebba Christina Siöbladh. She was the daughter of Baron Carl Georg Siöblad, Lord of Marsvinsholm and Countess Beata Elisabeth Stenbock. From 1782 to 1786 he made extensive renovations at Marsvinsholm Castle. In 1786 he invited a Swiss cheesemaker to Marsvinsholm Castle. A few years later, Swiss style cheese were being produced in Sweden. He served as the Governor-General of Swedish Pomerania from 1792 to 1796. He was made a Swedish count in 1792. He died on 25 May 1820. Johanna Eleonora De La Gardie
Johanna Eleonora De la Gardie (1661 in Hamburg – 1708 in Stockholm), was a Swedish writer, poet, lady-in-waiting and noblewoman. Biography Johanna was the daughter of Pontus Fredrik De la Gardie and Beata Elisabet von Königsmarck. She received a cultivated education, along with her sister Ebba Maria De la Gardie and her cousins Amalia von Königsmarck and Maria Aurora von Königsmarck; her sister became a respected poet and singer at court. Johanna became lady-in-waiting and, with her sister, a favourite of Queen Ulrika Eleonora of Denmark, and was also a friend of the queen dowager, Hedwig Eleonora of Holstein-Gottorp. Johanna participated at the amateur theatre of the royal court, encouraged by Queen Eleanora.
