Carl Fredrik Johannes Bødtker
Carl Fredrik Johannes Bødtker (20 June 1851 – 22 January 1928) was a Norwegian military officer, teacher and writer. Personal life Bødtker was born in Oslo, Christiania, the son of district stipendiary magistrate Job Dischington Bødtker and his wife Fredrikke Sophie Sejersted. Bødtker had two brothers, log driving manager Ragnvald Bødtker and county governor Eivind Bødtker, and was second cousin to theatre critic Sigurd Bødtker and chemist Eyvind Bødtker. His sister Julie married the judge Edward Isak Hambro. In April 1878 he married Karen Agathe Falck, a ship-owner's daughter from Tønsberg, at a ceremony in Nøtterøy, Nøtterø. Anders Beer (shipowner)
Anders Beer (15 January 1801 – 24 January 1863) was a Norwegian ship-owner and tanner. He was born in Flekkefjord as a son of ship-owner and consul Christopher Beer (1770–1839) and Anne Malene Tjørsvaag (1772–1820). He was a younger brother of Jens Henrik Beer, and a grandson of Jens Henrik Beer, Sr. He attended Christianssand Cathedral School, and also stayed in France for some time before becoming a businessman in his hometown. Like many others in the town, he made a living out of the herring fishing industry as well as shipbuilding. He also operated a small tobacco factory and a mill in the district Tjørsvågstranden. After 1838 the herring fishing in South Norway declined rapidly, and Beer sold his ships and developed small industry at Tjørsvågstranden. He opened an oil press (linseed oil and other types), a sawmill, a bakery and a tannery. The Norwegian Order of Freemasons (Norwegian: ''Den Norske Frimurerorden'') is the Masonic Grand Lodge in Norway. The first lodge (St. Olai Lodge - Later changed to Lodge St. Olaus to the white Leopard) was opened in 1749 and is still working. The Grand Lodge has followed the Swedish Rite since 1818, which requires its members to adhere to Christianity. During the union of Sweden-Norway, the Swedish-Norwegian king was Grand Master of the Order. The sovereign Grand Lodge of Norway was consecrated in 1891. As of 2009, the Order has about 20,000 members. Field artillery is a category of mobile artillery used to support army, armies in the field. These weapons are specialized for mobility, tactical proficiency, short range, long range, and extremely long range target engagement. Until the early 20th century, field artillery were also known as foot artillery, for while the guns were pulled by Working animal, beasts of burden (often horses), the gun crews would usually march on foot, thus providing fire support mainly to the infantry. This was in contrast to horse artillery, whose emphasis on speed while supporting cavalry units necessitated lighter guns and crews riding on horseback. Oscar II (Oscar Fredrik; 21 January 1829 – 8 December 1907) was King of Sweden from 1872 until his death in 1907 and King of Norway from 1872 to 1905. Oscar was the son of Oscar I of Sweden, King Oscar I and Josephine of Leuchtenberg, Queen Josephine. He inherited the Swedish and Norwegian thrones when his brother died in 1872. Oscar II ruled during a time when both countries were undergoing a period of industrialization and rapid technological progress.
