Cariñito
Cariñito is a Peruvian cumbia song written by Limeño Ángel Aníbal Rosado in 1979 and first interpreted by the Peruvian group Los Hijos del Sol. Readapted by numerous international groups and in different musical styles, the song is one of the best-known songs in the realm of Peruvian cumbia and cumbia in general. History In 1976, Ángel Aníbal Rosado founded Los Hijos del Sol. In 1979, he composed Cariñito to be adapted by the group led by vocalist Edson Bordaes and accompanied by guitarist José Luis Carvallo. The song became an immediate success and multiple versions and adaptations began to rise internationally. Peruvian Cumbia
Peruvian cumbia (Spanish: ''Cumbia Peruana'') is a subgenre of cumbia that became popular in the coastal cities of Peru, mainly in Lima in the 1960s through the fusion of local versions of the original Colombian genre, traditional highland huayno, and elements of traditional rhythms from the coast, highlands, and the jungle of Peru, and Rock music, particularly Rock & roll, Surf rock and Psychedelic rock. Unlike other styles of cumbia, the chicha subgenre's harmonics are based on the pentatonic scale typical of Andean music. It is played with keyboards or synthesizers and up to three electric guitars that can play simultaneous melodies, an element derived from the harp and guitar lines of Andean huayno. Discos Fuentes is a record label based in Medellín, Colombia, South America. Founded in 1934 in Cartagena, Colombia, by Antonio Fuentes Estrada, Discos Fuentes was the country's first notable record label. The label was instrumental in introducing Colombia to such Afro-rhythm genres as cumbia, fandango, merengue, porro, salsa and rock and roll. Chico Trujillo are a Chilean New cumbia band merging cumbia, ska, reggae and rock, among other styles. The band formed in 1999 in Villa Alemana, Zona Central, Chile, following a tour that lead singer – known as "Macha" – undertook with his then band through the cities of Germany, the Netherlands and Austria. Chico Trujillo's first songs were born of jamming sessions with Asenjo and his friend Antonio Orellana, and their sound gradually attracted new members to the band. Bareto
Bareto is a music group from Peru, famous for making their own versions of classic Peruvian cumbia songs. They also play and record their own material and had been nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards for their self-penned albums "Ves lo que quieres ver" (2012) and "Impredecible" (2015). The band’s musical explorations began with Jamaican ska and reggae, but quickly, and not giving up that original influence, Bareto then focused in Amazonian Cumbia and its psychedelic universe. Ana Lila Downs Sánchez (born 9 September 1968 * *) is a Mexican singer-songwriter. She performs her own compositions and the works of others in multiple genres, as well as tapping into Mexican traditional and popular music.
