Komorske Moravice
Moravice (formerly known as Komorske Moravice until 1919, thereafter as Srpske Moravice until 1991) ( sr-Cyrl, Моравице) is a settlement in north-western Croatia, situated at the far east of the mountainous region of Gorski kotar in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. Vrbovsko
Vrbovsko ( sr-Cyrl, Врбовско) is a town in western Croatia, situated at the far east of the mountainous region of Gorski Kotar in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County; on its 280 square kilometers area, Vrbovsko features 60 settlements and a total of 3876 inhabitants. The town of Vrbovsko itself has a population of 1257. The Kamačnik canyon is its main source of tourism. Geography In the north, river Kupa separates Vrbovsko from adjoining Slovenia, while the eastern border follows the line of Zdihovo, Liplje and Bosiljevo settlements and cuts through the river Dobra valley near Ljubošina. Gornji Vukšići
Gornji Vukšići is a village in Croatia, under the Vrbovsko township, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. History On 12 July, the Ministry of Deportation () was founded in Moravice, led by teacher Ivan Porić and manager Franjo Naglić, who was also an Ustaša ''tabornik''. The board included carpenter Josip Štiglić, economist Mato Falak and ''općinski načelnik'' Anton Mufić. That July, Naglić informed his superiors that 3 Serb homesteads had been emptied in Jakšići and Gornji Vučkovići. In 2005, a Eurasian brown bear attacked a beehive belonging to Dragoljub Krušković in Gornji Vukšići. Demographics In 1870, Vukšići had 3 houses and 31 people. In 1890, Vukšići had 6 houses and 54 people. They attended the school in Dokmanovići. Administered and taxed by Komorske Moravice. Gornji Vučkovići is a village in Croatia, under the Vrbovsko township, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. History In March 2008, a Eurasian brown bear attacked and killed 5 sheep belonging to Đorđe Jakšić in Gornji Vučkovići, coming back in the morning for a lamb. Gornji Vučkovići was hit by the 2014 Dinaric ice storm. In July 2023, a rarely used road near Mačjansko jezero was dangerously blocked with a rope, leading to a police investigation. Donji Vučkovići
Donji Vučkovići is a village in Croatia, under the Vrbovsko township, in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. History WWII On 3 August 1941, the Ustaše arrested 85 (or 63) Serb railway workers in Srpske Moravice. These were transferred to Ogulin, then Koprivnica, then Gospić then Jadovno where they were killed. Simo Jakšić was to work that morning, but at 3:00 Mihajlo Jakšić warned him that the Ustaše had arrived at the station and by 4:00 rounded up all of the night shift work. Simo's wife had is daughter Milka tell manager Šarčević that Simo was sick, and since Šarčević demanded to hear from her mother, her mother came in person, and so Simo survived. Mihajlo Jakšić himself fled across the Dobra to Jakšići, warning second shift workers along the way while his children Stojan and Marija went to the station to call their father in sick only to encounter wailing in front of the Ferenc house and, not far from ''Jovičin dućan'', a column of bound Serbs walking two-by- ... Skrad is a village and a municipality in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in western Croatia. History Skrad was first mentioned on 22 February 1481 in a document freeing the citizens of Grič from tariffs in Skrad and elsewhere, unless the other Skrad was intended. After the Lujzijana was built, the ''Družtvo lujzinske ceste'' constructed an inn in Skrad together with stables and an aqueduct. In 1874, the society would sell all its assets along the road, including those in Skrad. 2014 Dinaric Ice Storm
The 2014 Dinaric ice storm, better known as the 2014 Slovenia ice storm or 2014 Croatia ice storm, was a severe ice storm ( SPIA 5) that struck the Northwest Dinaric Alps between 31 January and 2 February 2014. The freezing rain led to glazing of a vast region with about of ice, locally above . It wrecked roofs, power lines an forests, causing power loss for hundreds of thousands.
