Cannonball Run was a wooden roller coaster located at Waterville USA in Gulf Shores, Alabama. It opened in 1995 and closed in 2018. Track layout The ride featured a 65-foot lift hill and runs over and next to the park's parking lot. It was an out and back design, meaning the course went out away from the station, turns around, then headed back to the station. Each ride cycle usually consisted of two laps around the course. A lift hill, or chain hill, is an upward-sloping section of track on a roller coaster on which the roller coaster train is mechanically lifted to an elevated point or peak in the track.
