Cangyuan Washan Airport () is an airport serving Cangyuan Va Autonomous County in Lincang, Yunnan province, southwest China. The airport is located in Nuoliang Township and opened in December 2016. History Construction of the airport began on 20 December 2013, with an estimated total investment of 1.589 billion yuan. Cangyuan Washan Airport opened on 8 December 2016 with the arrival of a Lucky Air flight from Kunming, the capital of the province. The airport supports tourism in the county; it is closer than Lincang Airport, originally the only airport in Lincang, to Wengding Wa village, a popular tourist attraction. Wa (Va) is an Austroasiatic language spoken by the Wa people of Myanmar and China. Mengjiao Dai Yi And Lahu, Yunnan
Mengjiao Dai, Yi and Lahu People Township (), commonly abbreviated as Mengjiao Ethnic Township or Mengjiao Township, is a rural township in Cangyuan Va Autonomous County, Yunnan, China. it had a population of 13,990 and an area of . It is surrounded by Menglai Township on the north, Banhong Township on the west, Nuoliang Township on the east, and Mengdong Town on the south. Name The word Mengjiao is transliteration in Dai language. "Mengjiao" means a place to start a family. History In the early history, the area had always been under Tusi jurisdiction. Mengjiao was incorporated as a town in 1945, after the Second Sino-Japanese War. After the establishment of the Communist State in 1954, Mengjiao District was established. Wa People
The Wa people ( Wa: Vāx; my, ဝလူမျိုး, ; ; th, ว้า) are a Southeast Asian ethnic group that lives mainly in Northern Myanmar, in the northern part of Shan State and the eastern part of Kachin State, near and along Myanmar's border with China, as well as in China's Yunnan Province. Historically, the Wa have inhabited the Wa States, a territory that they have claimed as their ancestral land since time immemorial. It is a rugged mountainous area located between the Mekong and the Salween River, with the Nam Hka flowing across it. The Wa traditionally practiced subsistence agriculture by cultivating rice, peas, beans, poppies and walnuts. They bred water buffaloes, which they used mainly for sacrificial purposes. Generally, the traditional customs of the Wa, as well as their lifestyle, are very similar to those of the Naga people further to the Northwest.
