Candan Erçetin (; born 10 February 1961) is a Turkish singer-songwriter. Over the twenty five years of her singing career, she has been recognized for preparing and singing songs about human life. Despite the fact that she made her albums without much publicity, her work influenced other artists. Erçetin has released many music videos with different themes. Because her family originate from the Balkans, she has often used elements of Balkan music in her songs and works. In addition to Turkish, she has written songs in French and Greek. Erçetin was born in Kırklareli, and is of Albanian and Macedonian descent. She later moved to Istanbul and attended Galatasaray High School. In the following years she received voice training. She later studied classical archeology at Istanbul University. Candan Yüceer (born 4 May 1973) is a Turkish politician from the Republican People's Party (CHP). She is the current Mayor of Tekirdağ. Also, she has served as a Member of Parliament for Tekirdağ from 28 June 2011 to 14 May 2023. Early life and career Yüceer was born on 4 May 1973 in Ankara. She graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine and worked as a Ministry of Health practitioner in Ankara, Samsun and the Çerkezköy district of Tekirdağ. In Çerkezköy, she also worked as a workplace health practitioner. She is one of the founding members of Çerkezköy's CUMOK society, which is one of the most well known Kemalist societies in Turkey formed by readers of the newspaper ''Cumhuriyet''.
