Cameroon Sheep
The Cameroon or Cameroon Dwarf is a Cameroonian list of sheep breeds, breed of domestic sheep. It belongs to the West African Dwarf (sheep), West African Dwarf group of breeds. Some have been exported to Europe. Characteristics The Cameroon Dwarf is a hardy sheep. It is normally brown with a black belly and black markings to the head and legs. Has a hair coat, and in winter grows a fine under-coat; it sheds this in springtime. Ewes have high prolificacy and mature early; they are capable of producing three crops of lambs every two years. Ewes typically weigh between 35 and 50 kilograms (80 and 110 lb), and rams between 45 and 60 kilograms (100 and 130 lb). DAD-IS
DAD-IS is the acronym for the Domestic Animal Diversity Information System, a tool developed and maintained by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations as a part of its programme for management of animal genetic resources for food and agriculture. It includes a searchable database of information on animal breeds. Overview The FAO began to collect data on animal breeds in 1982. The first version of DAD-IS was launched in 1996 and the software has been updated several times; the fourth version was launched in 2017. DAD-IS includes a searchable database of information about animal breeds, the Global Databank for Animal Genetic Resources. It contains information on breed characteristics, uses, geographic distribution and demographics; more than images; and tools for generating user-defined reports; and has a multilingual interface and content. Cameroon, officially the Republic of Cameroon, is a country in Central Africa. It shares boundaries with Nigeria to the west and north, Chad to the northeast, the Central African Republic to the east, and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Republic of the Congo to the south. Domestic Sheep
Sheep (: sheep) or domestic sheep (''Ovis aries'') are a domesticated, ruminant mammal typically kept as livestock. Although the term ''sheep'' can apply to other species in the genus '' Ovis'', in everyday usage it almost always refers to domesticated sheep. Like all ruminants, sheep are members of the order Artiodactyla, the even-toed ungulates. Numbering a little over one billion, domestic sheep are also the most numerous species of sheep. West African Dwarf (sheep)
The West African Dwarf or Djallonké is an African breed or group of breeds of domestic sheep. It is the dominant breed of West and Central Africa. This breed is primarily raised for meat.
