Cameron Murray (hurdler)
Cameron Murray (born 12 December 1999) is an American track and field athlete who competes as a sprint hurdler. Early life From Georgia, he attended Westlake High School. He ran 13.52 seconds for the 110m hurdles at high school. National Collegiate Athletics Association He attended the University of Tennessee before transferring to North Carolina State University, for whom he won the ACC championship outdoors and the NCAA East Regional title. He set a NC State school record of 7.67 seconds for the 60m hurdles. Murray recorded a personal best time of 13.39 seconds for the 110m hurdles to qualify for the final of the NCAA Championships in June 2024 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Career Murray recorded a personal best time of 7.45 to secure national silver in the 60m hurdles behind Trey Cunningham in Albuquerque, New Mexico in February 2024. Hurdling
Hurdling is the act of jumping over an obstacle at a high speed or in a sprint. In the early 19th century, hurdlers ran at and jumped over each hurdle (sometimes known as 'burgles'), landing on both feet and checking their forward motion. Today, the dominant step patterns are the 3-step for high hurdles, 7-step for low hurdles, and 15-step for intermediate hurdles. Hurdling is a highly specialized form of obstacle racing, and is part of the sport of athletics. In hurdling events, barriers known as hurdles are set at precisely measured heights and distances. Each athlete must pass over the hurdles; passing under or intentionally knocking over hurdles will result in disqualification.
