Calvin Dickinson
Calvin Miles Dickinson (born 3 November 1996) is a South African-born English former cricketer who played for Hampshire. Dickinson was born in Durban in November 1996. He moved to England with his parents, who settled on the Isle of Wight. There he was educated at Ryde School, before his parents moved to Oxfordshire. There, his education continued at St Edward's School in Oxford, where he played for and captained the school cricket team. In May 2015, he made the highest individual score in the school's 150–year history, when he made 181 against The Oratory School. From there, he matriculated to Oxford Brookes University. While studying at Oxford Brookes, Dickinson made his debut in first-class cricket as a wicket-keeper for Oxford MCCU in 2016, making two appearances against Worcestershire and Northamptonshire at Oxford. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is of three or more days scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but the term was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the International Cricket Council, Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. 2017 NatWest T20 Blast
The 2017 NatWest T20 Blast was the fifteenth edition of the T20 Blast, a professional domestic T20 competition league in England and Wales run by the ECB. The league consisted of the 18 first-class county teams divided into two divisions of nine teams each with fixtures played between July and September. Ahead of the final round of fixtures, 15 teams were still in a position to qualify for the quarter-finals. The finals day took place at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham on 2 September 2017. Uxbridge Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Uxbridge, London, England. Teams using the ground Middlesex Middlesex County Cricket Club first used the ground competitively in 1980 on their way on to winning the County Championship in a match against Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Derbyshire. Middlesex won by 9 wickets, with Vintcent van der Bijl taking 10 wickets in the match. However Middlesex had used the ground once before when they played the West Indies cricket team in a friendly one day match, just before the 1979 Cricket World Cup, 1979 World Cup. Theunis Booysen de Bruyn (born 8 October 1992) is a former South African cricketer who represents Northerns. He is a right-handed batsman who bowls occasional right-arm medium-fast. The Rose Bowl, known for sponsorship reasons as Utilita Bowl, is a cricket ground and hotel complex in West End, Hampshire. It is the home of Hampshire County Cricket Club, who have played there since 2001. It was constructed as a replacement for the County Ground in Southampton and also the United Services Recreation Ground in Portsmouth, which had been Hampshire's homes since 1882. Dale Martin Benkenstein (born 9 June 1974) is a South African former cricketer who was an all-rounder. He is also a former first-team coach at Lancashire and Hampshire. Benkenstein was a member of the South Africa team that won the 1998 ICC KnockOut Trophy. Early life Benkenstein was born in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe), the son of Martin Benkenstein, who had played for Rhodesia in the Currie Cup in the 1970s. In 1980, around the time of Zimbabwean independence, Martin moved his family to Durban, South Africa. The Oxford University Parks, commonly referred to locally as the University Parks, or just The Parks, is a large parkland area slightly northeast of the city centre in Oxford, England. The park is bounded to the east by the River Cherwell, though a small plot of land called Mesopotamia sits between the upper and lower levels of the river.
