Calanticaria
''Calanticaria'' is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Asteraceae. Its native range is eastern Mexico. Botanists Schilling & Panero in 2002 and 2011, studied the subtribe Helianthinae based on molecular sequences of nuclear ITS, ETS, and cpDNA, coming to a conclusion that that the genus ''Viguiera'' , did not constitute a monophyletic group. Among their conclusions they proposed to reclassify the genus, dividing and relocating its species in at least eleven genera: '' Aldama'' , '' Bahiopsis'' , ''Calanticaria'' , ''Davilanthus'' , ''Dendroviguiera'' , '' Gonzalezia'' , ''Heiseria'' , ''Heliomeris'' , ''Hymenostephium'' , '' Sidneya'' and ''Viguiera'' . Heiseria
''Heiseria'' is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Asteraceae. It is native to Peru. Botanists Edward E. Schilling and José Luis Panero in 2002 and 2011, studied the subtribe Helianthinae based on molecular sequences of nuclear ITS, ETS, and cpDNA, coming to a conclusion that that the genus ''Viguiera'' , did not constitute a monophyletic group. Among their conclusions they proposed to reclassify the genus, dividing and relocating its species in at least eleven genera: '' Aldama'' , '' Bahiopsis'' , '' Calanticaria'' , ''Davilanthus'' , ''Dendroviguiera'' , '' Gonzalezia'', ''Heliomeris'' , ''Heiseria'' , ''Hymenostephium'' , '' Sidneya'' , and ''Viguiera'' . The genus name of ''Heiseria'' is in honour of Charles Bixler Heiser (1920–2010), an American professor of botany. It was first described and published in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. The ''Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society'' is a scientific journal publishing original papers relating to the taxonom ...

Heliomeris
''Heliomeris'' is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, known generally as false goldeneyes. They are native to the western United States and northern Mexico. One species, '' H. obscura'', is separated from the others, endemic to a remote area on the border between the Mexican states of Puebla and Oaxaca. These are annual and perennial herbs producing sunflower-like radiate flower heads. They are distinguished from related genera by the achenes, which are glabrous and lack a pappus, and by the involucre, which consists of only 2 series of bracts.Flora North America, ''Heliomeris'' Nutt.

Heliantheae
The Heliantheae (sometimes called the sunflower tribe) are the third-largest tribe in the sunflower family (Asteraceae). With some 190 genera and nearly 2500 recognized species, only the tribes Senecioneae and Astereae are larger. The name is derived from the genus ''Helianthus'', which is Greek for sun flower. Most genera and species are found in North America (particularly in Mexico) and South America. A few genera are pantropical. Most Heliantheae are herbs or shrubs, but some grow to the size of small trees. Leaves are usually hairy and arranged in opposite pairs. The anthers are usually blackened. The above statements about the size and distribution of the tribe apply to a broad definition of Heliantheae, which was followed throughout the 20th century. Some recent authors break the tribe up into a dozen or so smaller tribes. Uses Commercially important plants in the Heliantheae include sunflower and Jerusalem artichoke. Many garden flowers are also in this group, ...

Davilanthus
''Davilanthus'' is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Asteraceae. It is native to Mexico. Botanists Schilling & Panero in 2002 and 2011, studied the subtribe Helianthinae based on molecular sequences of nuclear internal transcribed spacer, ITS, External transcribed spacer, ETS, and Chloroplast DNA, cpDNA, coming to a conclusion that that the genus ''Viguiera'' , did not constitute a monophyletic group. Dendroviguiera
''Dendroviguiera'' is a genus of flowering plants in the sunflower family. Its native range stretches from Mexico into Central America. Formerly part of the ''Viguiera'' genus, until a DNA study in 2011 separated out all the shrub/tree species of the ''Viguiera'' genus. Description Dendroviguiera species generally are shrubs and trees with phyllaries (modified leaves) with oblong, indurated (hardened) bases and short, triangular herbaceous apices (leaf-tips). The pappus (flowerhead) has awns (hair r bristle-like appendages) which are usually broad, greater than mm across. The abaxial (underneath) leaf surfaces usually not densely pubescent (downy; covered with short, soft hairs). Taxonomy Originally the (woody) species of ''Viguiera'' were placed in ''Viguiera ser. Maculatae'' in 1918. Molecular phylogenetic studies by Schilling in 1991, suggested that there is an unexpectedly close relationship between '' Iostephane'' (genus of Mexican flowering plants in the family A ...

Plants Of The World Online
Plants of the World Online (POWO) is an online database published by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. It was launched in March 2017 with the ultimate aim being "to enable users to access information on all the world's known seed-bearing plants by 2020". The initial focus was on tropical African Floras, particularly Flora Zambesiaca, Flora of West Tropical Africa and Flora of Tropical East Africa. The database uses the same taxonomical source as Kew's World Checklist of Selected Plant Families, which is the International Plant Names Index, and the World Checklist of Vascular Plants (WCVP). POWO contains 1,234,000 global plant names and 367,600 images. ''Sidneya'' is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Asteraceae. Its native range is southern central USA (in the states of New Mexico and Texas) to Mexico and El Salvador.
