Caelan Doris (born 2 April 1998) is an Irish professional rugby union player who plays as a number eight for United Rugby Championship club Leinster and the Ireland national team. Early life Doris was born in Lacken, County Mayo. Doris's first involvement with rugby was with Ballina. He attended boarding school from the age of 12 onwards at Blackrock College in Dublin, where he was a member of the victorious Leinster Schools Rugby Senior Cup team in 2014 as well as captaining the 2016 side. His father Chris had attended Blackrock College, final year 1980, playing rugby at centre. Doris gained a degree in psychology at University College Dublin. Leinster Rugby () is one of the four professional provincial club rugby union teams from the island of Ireland. They compete in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup. The men's 2023 Six Nations Championship (known as the Guinness Six Nations for sponsorship reasons) was the 24th Six Nations Championship, an annual rugby union competition contested by the men's national teams of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. It was the 129th edition of the competition (including all its previous incarnations as the Home Nations Championship and Five Nations Championship). France entered the tournament as defending champions, having won the Grand Slam in 2022. World Rugby Men's 15s Dream Team of the Year was first presented in 2021 by World Rugby. The award is open to all men's 15s players who have played international test matches in the voting year. They are voted by a panel of international past players and coaches, World Rugby Hall of Fame inductees and the rugby media. In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). The World Rugby Men's 15s Player of the Year is an award presented annually by World Rugby at the World Rugby Awards. It is given to honour "the achievements of those involved at the highest level of the world game on the field".
