CSM Mediaș (basketball)
Clubul Sportiv Municipal Mediaș, commonly known as CSM Mediaș or simply Mediaș, is a Romanian basketball club based in Mediaș. currently participates in the Liga Națională, the top-tier league in Romania. The team was founded in 2003 as ''Gaz Metan Mediaș'' and promoted for the first time in Liga Națională in 2004. The best place since then has been 2nd, in 2010. In the 2010–11 and 2012–13 season, the club won the Romanian Cup. In 2015 the basketball section of Gaz Metan was dissolved and in 2016 the entire club went into insolvency. In 2017 the basketball section was refounded as a section of the Municipality of Mediaș sports club, CSM Mediaș and initially played in the second-tier, Liga I. However, in 2018 the league was merged with the top-tier Liga Națională.

Liga Națională (men's Basketball)
The Liga Națională de Baschet Masculin (LNBM) () is the top-tier professional basketball league of Romania. The winner of the league each season is crowned the Romanian national champion. Founded in 1950, the league consists of 24 teams playing in three different divisions. Currently, the clubs from the Liga Națională also participate in the European competitions, and can qualify for the Basketball Champions League or the FIBA Europe Cup based on their performance in the national league and cup competition. The most successful club in the league's history is Dinamo București, who has won a record 22 titles. Asesoft Ploieşti won the championship seven times in a row between 2004 and 2010, and again between 2012 and 2014. They became the only Romanian team to win a European title with their success in the FIBA EuroCup Challenge in 2005. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court), while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Marko Dimitrijević
Marko Dimitrijević ( sr-cyr, Марко Димитријевић; born 8 February 1978) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for Sloga of the Basketball League of Serbia. Playing career During his playing days a guard, Dimitrijević played for his hometown teams Sloga and Mašinac, as well as Srem, Partizan, Igokea (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Pardubice (Czech Republic), Gaz Metan Mediaș (Romania), Feni Industries (Macedonia), Tamiš, and Smederevo 1953. Dimitrijevic retired as a player with Smederevo in 2013. Coaching career After retirement in 2013, Dimitrijević became the head coach for Polet, a club based in Ratina near his hometown, of the First Regional League of Serbia. ''Sala Sporturilor Mediaş'' ("Mediaş Sports Hall"), also known as ''Sala Sporturilor Vitrometan'', is a multi-use indoor arena in Mediaş, Romania. The capacity of the arena is 462 seats. Starting from July 2020 the sports hall was renamed "Octavian Şerban" Sports Hall. The arena has been operating since 1 November 2004 and is under the administration of the Municipal Directorate for Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth. The Liga I was the second level of professional basketball in Romania. There were 25 teams, divided in 4 groups in Liga I. The competition was dissolved at the start of the 2018–19 season, when the Romanian Basketball System was reformed and Liga Națională remained the only senior level competition.
