Cable News Network (CNN) is a multinational news organization operating, most notably, a website and a TV channel headquartered in Atlanta. Founded in 1980 by American media proprietor Ted Turner and Reese Schonfeld as a 24-hour cable news channel, and presently owned by the Manhattan-based media conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), CNN was the first television channel to provide 24-hour news coverage and the first all-news television channel in the United States. As of December 2023, CNN had 68,974,000 television households as subscribers in the United States. According to Nielsen, down from 80 million in March 2021. Cable News Network International or CNN International (CNNi, simply branded on-air as CNN) is an international television channel and website, owned by CNN Worldwide. CNN International carries news-related programming worldwide; it cooperates with sister network CNN's national and international news bureaus. HLN is an American basic cable network. Owned by CNN Worldwide, the network primarily carries true crime, true-crime programming, recently Channel drift, drifting away from limited live news programming. The channel was originally launched on January 1, 1982, by Turner Broadcasting as CNN2 (later renamed Headline News or CNN Headline News), a sister network to CNN that broadcast a looping, half-hour cycle of segments covering various news topics. CNN Brasil is a Brazilian news-based pay television channel and news website. Launched on 15 March 2020, CNN Brasil is owned by Novus Media, a joint-venture between Douglas Tavolaro, former header of Record's news division, and Rubens Menin, owner of MRV Engenharia. Novus Media has a licensing agreement with the original CNN channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. CNN Brasil is the second local franchise of CNN in South America, after CNN Chile. CNN Airport was an American out-of-home advertising, out-of-home television network owned and operated by AT&T's WarnerMedia through CNN, hence its name. Ken Jautz is a television executive who became an EVP for CNN-US, after first joining Turner Broadcasting Europe 36 years before, resigning in 2024. Prior, he worked in various media roles, beginning as a foreign correspondent in Europe for Associated Press in 1989.
