CJSL
CJSL is a Canadian radio station licensed to Estevan, Saskatchewan, and serves the southeastern portion of the province. CJSL broadcasts a classic hits radio format, format. CFSL
CFSL (1190 kHz is a Canadian radio station licensed to Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Owned by Golden West Broadcasting, it broadcasts a classic hits format serving the southeast portion of the province. The station shares studios with CKRC-FM and CHWY-FM at 305 Souris Avenue in downtown Weyburn. History CFSL signed on in 1957 under the ownership of Soo Line Broadcasting Ltd., serving both Weyburn and Estevan (until the launch of its sister station CJSL in Estevan in 1961). Starting on 1340, the station moved to the current frequency at 1190 in the 1960s. When on 1340, CFSL was part of a study by the Federal Communications Commission in the United States, because a station in South Dakota, KIJV was looking to upgrade from 250 watts to 500 watts. The FCC found that KIJV would interfere with CFSL. The station was listed as having deleted its allotment on 1340 in the 1960s which allowed KIJV to complete its upgrade. Estevan
Estevan is the eleventh-largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada. It is approximately north of the Canada–United States border. The Souris River runs by the city. CHSN-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 102.3 FM in Estevan, Saskatchewan. The station is currently owned & operated by Golden West Broadcasting and plays a hot adult contemporary format under the brand name ''Sun 102''. History Golden West received approval from the CRTC on April 26, 2001, and the station was launched in November of the same year. CHSN was the first sister station to CJSL. At launch, the station had an adult contemporary format. CHSN's format, branding and call sign were all adopted from a radio station in Saskatoon whose owner, Rawlco Communications, dropped them to launch a new active rock station, CJDJ. CKSE-FM (106.1 MHz) is a country music formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada, serving Estevan and Divide and Burke counties in North Dakota. Toronto Blue Jays Radio Network
The Toronto Blue Jays Radio Network consists of 20 stations (16 AM, 4 FM) in 7 Canadian provinces broadcasting the team's games in English. At the start of the 2021 season, the radio broadcasts consisted of a simulcast of the audio from the Sportsnet television broadcasts of Blue Jays games, featuring play-by-play announcer Dan Shulman and colour analysts Buck Martinez and Pat Tabler, with Rob Wong and Shoaib Ali serve as on-air hosts. The simulcasts continued through the end of July, after which a dedicated radio broadcast was used with Ben Wagner calling play-by-play. From 2018 to 2020, the radio team consisted of play-by-play announcers Wagner and Mike Wilner. Big 6 Hockey League
The Big 6 Hockey League is a senior men's ice hockey league in south-eastern Saskatchewan, Canada. There are currently nine teams in the league. The league began in 1959-1960 with four teams, the Bienfait Coalers, Frobisher, Saskatchewan, Frobisher Flyers, Glen Ewen Eagles, and Oxbow, Saskatchewan, Oxbow Aces. The teams compete for the Lincoln Trophy. The Bienfait Coalers have been the most successful team in league history with 15 championships. The Canadian Communications Foundation (CCF) was a Canadian nonprofit organization which documented the history of broadcasting in Canada, particularly radio and television networks, programs and broadcasters. The organization was established in 1967 and announced that it would begin wrapping up its work in 2023. Since 1995, the organization distributed its collection via its website. The CCF was established in 1967 by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. Its mission: to "commemorate throughout Canada the development of electronic communications". By 2020, the foundation started to wind down as its original mission was largely accomplished.
