CH Postcode Area
The CH postcode area, also known as the Chester postcode area, is a group of 37 postcode districts in North West England and North East Wales. Together the districts cover west Cheshire, the Wirral part of Merseyside, and east Flintshire. Its thirteen post towns are Bagillt, Birkenhead, Buckley, Chester, Deeside, Ellesmere Port, Flint, Holywell, Mold, Neston, Prenton, Wallasey, and Wirral. The postcodes for the Wirral Peninsula were originally covered by the L postcode area, until they were transferred to the CH postcode area in 1999. The postcode numbers were unchanged, for example L41 became CH41. Prenton
Prenton is a suburb of Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. Administratively, it is also a ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral. Before local government reorganisation on 1 April 1974, it was part of the County Borough of Birkenhead, within the county of Cheshire. Situated in the east of the Wirral Peninsula, the area is contiguous with Oxton to the north, Tranmere and Rock Ferry to the east and Higher Bebington to the south east. Hoole
Hoole is a suburb in the east of Chester, in Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire, England. The area is contiguous with Newton to the north and Vicars Cross to the south. The A41 road marks the suburb's eastern boundary, with the separate Hoole Village approximately away. History The settlement was first mentioned in the Register of the Abbey of Saint Werburgh in 1119. The name derives from the Old English word ''hol'' and is believed to mean "at the hollow" (or hole), possibly referring to the "hollow way" formed by a Roman roadway. Elton, Cheshire
Elton is a village and civil parish in Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire, England, northeast of Chester, between Helsby and Ellesmere Port, near the River Mersey. Its proximity to the Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal have contributed to its industrial character. The village is on the north-western edge of the Cheshire Plain, from Stanlow Refinery. Cheshire West and Chester is a Unitary authorities of England, unitary authority area with Borough status in the United Kingdom, borough status in Cheshire, England. Backford
Backford is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is situated between Chester and Ellesmere Port on the A41 trunk road, to the north of the Shropshire Union Canal. Backford Cross is located about to the north, the village of Mollington is approximately to the west and the hamlet of Croughton is about to the east. According to the 2011 census the parish had a population of 117. Formerly a township in the Wirral Hundred, its population was 138 in 1801, 155 in 1851, 141 in 1901, 119 in 1951 and 109 at the 2001 census. Capenhurst
Capenhurst is a village and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Higher Ferry
Sealand is a community in Flintshire and electoral ward, north-east Wales, on the edge of the Wirral peninsula. It is west of the city of Chester, England, and is part of the Deeside conurbation on the Wales-England border. At the 2001 Census, it had a population of 2,746 (1,342 males, 1,404 females), increasing to 2,996 at the 2011 census. The community includes the villages of Garden City and Sealand, and the settlements of Higher Ferry, Sealand Manor and Sealand Road. Sealand Manor was established by the Welsh Land Settlement Society in 1937 as an agricultural settlement. Blacon is a suburb that is predominately a council estate on the outskirts of Chester, England. It was once one of the largest council housing estates in Europe.
